What is coming to BritBox in December? Beyond Paradise, Archie, And Annika

BritBox is gearing up for the Holiday season by adding a handful of new titles to the streaming service. In December, BritBox subscribers will be gifted a new Christmas episode of Beyond Paradise, a new season of Annika, and the new biopic Archie. Furthermore, BritBox will be adding a new feature to allow users to download their favorite titles to their iOS mobile devices.

Downloads are expected to be available for Android devices shortly.

Beyond Paradise Christmas Special

Following the success of season one, Beyond Paradise is returning for a Christmas special just in time for the holidays. Fans will catch up with Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) after the emotional finale which saw Humphrey consider his future. Humphrey will be joined by Martha Lloyd, DS Esther Williams, PC Kelby Hartford, and Anne Lloyd.

A new season of Beyond Paradise will be available on BritBox in 2024.

My Family Christmas Specials

Three My Family Christmas specials will be added to BritBox on December 1, 2023. The specials were originally released in 2005, 2008, and 2009.

In the 2005 special, titled And I’ll Cry If I Want To, Christmas looks to be more frightening than usual for Ben. Susan will try to give her grandson, Kenzo, a third birthday party that he will never forget.

In the 2008 special, titled Have an Unhappy Christmas, Ben gets into trouble as he tries to buy Susan a Christmas present. When Susan receives a letter, the holiday plans will change for everyone.

In the 2009 Christmas special, titled 2039: A Christmas Oddity, the story fast-forwards to December 2039 when the Harpers gather for Christmas. There won’t be much room for peace and goodwill with a Nativity play battle, rival cousin, and “greed gift exchange”.

My Family Seasons 5 to 11

On December 7, 2023, BritBox subscribers will be able to stream seasons 5 to 11 of My Family. Finally, all 11 seasons of the beloved sitcom will be available on BritBox. My Family stars Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wanamaker as Ben and Susan Harper. Despite being loving parents, they often have difficulty proving it. It is easy to see why once viewers have met their dysfunctional children.

Archie

Archie will be launching with 2 episodes weekly on December 7 and December 14. BAFTA-winning screenwriter and executive producer, Jeff Pope, will bring the story of Cary Grant’s early years to the small screen. Archie tells the story of Cary Grant when he was known as Archie Leach. Few knew Archie Leach and the great obstacles he overcame to become one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

Archie stars Jason Isaacs in the lead role. The series is executive produced by Grant’s daughter, Jennifer Grant, and his ex-wife, Dyan Cannon. The series also stars Laura Aikman, Harriet Walter, Dainton Anderson, Calam Lynch, and Oaklee Pendergast.

Farewell Doc Martin

Farewell Doc Martin will be available on BritBox on December 7, 2023. The one-off documentary takes viewers behind the scenes to get an up-close look at the process of making the final installment of the popular UK series. The documentary covers the scripting and pre-production of the final season, as well as the shooting and delivery. Viewers will also learn more about the cast behind the memorable characters.

Midsomer Murder Season 15

The 15th season of Midsomer Murders will be available on BritBox on December 14, 2023. Neil Dudgeon is back as DCI John Barnaby alongside Ben Johns and Dr. Bullard. In the first episode, Dark Rider, Barnaby and Jones will investigate a headless horseman who foreshadows several deaths among an aristocratic family.

Annika Season 2

The second series of Annika is coming to BritBox on December 21, 2023. Nicola Walker returns as DI Annika Standhed alongside Jamies Sives as DS Michael McAndrews. Can Annika and Michael work effectively together while she keeps a big secret from him? What will happen when Annika’s teenage daughter, Morgan (Silvie Furneaux), finds out the truth?
