Wentworth Review

I am torn again. I knew that Marie wouldn’t die. At the same time, the introduction of Narelle was okay. It was slightly predictable though. It became very clear what was going to happen when the Red Right Hand was mentioned again. It seems Kaz’s past dealings may be coming back to haunt her. Poor old Rick Donald entered Wentworth way too late. I can’t blame him. It gets his name out there, but he and Kate Atkinson have become too good for Wentworth now.

In fact, a lot of the actors and actresses are. I have suspicions about Greg Miller as well. Sometimes I think the writers introduced too many new characters too quickly. Is that a sign that some are going to die this season? That would definitely help unclutter things. This episode was just okay. A 6.5 out of 10 is deserved. I just hope we are up for some good deaths. Like a really good main character death.

I personally think that Linda has run her course, Jacquie taking all her performances as Linda out of the park, but she just looks done playing Linda, they introduced her extreme gambling problem way too late, with her promotion as well. far out, I love Linda and she’s a bit of dark humour in a dark show.

Many of the actors on the show have out grown the series, but they don’t want to leave, and i think you can tell that its a paycheck for most of them, others its “omg big tv series i want in..” the only disappointing thing is knowing series 8 is coming.

    • ReelMockery says:

Finally! Someone I agree with 100%. I noticed that Jacqueline seemed out of place. The writers haven’t focused on some of these characters enough. Rita and Ruby are stealing the attention and they’re not interesting at all.

None of the characters are particularly interesting at this point. I sincerely hope a main cast member gets slaughtered this season. I just hope it isn’t Marie. That would be too easy for the writers.

      • Tim Johnston says:

If you were in the supporting cast for 6 seasons, of course you are going to look out of place when they bump you up to main cast as for tired, no i don’t think so, Jacquie gives her all to the role of Linda and she always said that she loved playing her vehemently, I don’t think she’s sick of Linda, I just think the writers messed up with Linda along the road and are stuck and thats why the made her deputy governor.

I reckon it has to be Liz who dies in the middle of the season, or a random guard or inmate, too much going on for my liking.

        • ReelMockery says:

I agree with that. Think some of the actors/actresses are too good for the current writing quality. I bet it will be Liz too. We need someone bigger than that to die. Liz is a moot point pretty much more lol.

  2. Cat Braunwell says:

I think the acting on this show is awesome. I love so many of them. Liz is such a wonderful character and I’m sad she’s sick. Unlike someone above I think Rita is an awesome newer cast member. She’s a good actress and very believable in her part. Really like her. Boomer and Kaz are also incredible as is most of the cast really ! Incredible show!! ❤️
