vera bennett wentworth

As the episode begins, Vera (Kate Atkinson) is shown locking her windows and securing her home. She hears something outside and watches as a shadow passes by a tree. She believes that someone is stalking her. In the morning, she notices muddy boot prints outside. At the prison, Rita (Leah Purcell) gives Ruby (Rarriwuy Hick) boxing tips. Kaz (Tammy Macintosh) is released from isolation. The other girls seem to respect her a little more now. Marie (Susie Porter) and Drago (Natalia Novikova) set a plan into place. Kaz walks by and stares at Marie. Ruby begins having problems with her head.

Allie (Kate Jenkinson) interrupts and shows off her new glove. They flirt with one another, before Kaz shows up. She checks on Allie’s hand. Then, Kaz tries to explain to Boomer (Katrina Milosevic) what happened with Sonia. Boomer doesn’t believe it. She speaks with Kosta (Artemis Ioannides) and signs up to fight. Kaz speaks with Vera and requests to be moved closer to Liz. Kaz confronts Kosta. She agrees to let the fights happen. She just wants fifty percent of the cut.

Marie flirts with Allie. Ruby watches from a distance. Later, Marie and Drago run into Ruby. Ruby ends up having an attack and falling down the stairs. She is taken to the hospital. It is revealed that Ruby has a brain aneurism. Vera speaks with her in private. Allie complains to Kaz about the fighting. Kaz reveals she is giving the money to the Red Right Hand for troubled women. Kaz confronts Marie. She denies pushing Ruby down the stairs. Ruby speaks with Kosta and agrees to fight Boomer. Linda Miles (Jacqueline Brennan) learns about it and puts some money down.

Marie speaks with Will (Robbie Magasiva) in the hallway. Marie wants to know whether she should be worried about Kaz. Will learns about Vera’s stalker problem. Linda gets in touch with Allie. She tells her about Ruby’s problem. She encourages Allie to stop Ruby from fighting. Allie speaks with Ruby. She tells her that she can be with her or fight. Jake (Bernard Curry) learns about Vera’s problem and follows her home. He checks the house. Eventually, Vera gets mad at him for sleeping with Nurse Radcliffe. She sends him home.

Will has a fright. He seeks out Marie and sleeps with her. Kaz and Will end their arrangement. Ruby refuses to fight. Boomer finds her sleeping with Allie. Drago receives pictures of Danny. Marie and Drago confront Ruby. Kaz tells Boomer about Liz’s problem. Ruby is beaten. She denies knowing anything about Danny’s death. Eventually, Rita enters and takes up for Ruby. She also tells Marie about Ruby being her sister. In private, Ruby admits to Rita that she assaulted Danny because he raped one of her friends.

Rita returns to Marie to make sure that everything is fine. Later that night, a brick is thrown through Vera’s window. She blames Jake. She calls the prison and learns that Jake is with Will. They agree to rush to Vera’s place right away. Vera finds gloves like Ferguson’s on her pillow.

Wentworth Review

This episode wasn’t as bad as the last one, but it wasn’t much better. The show doesn’t have a direction any more. It feels like things have been pieced together haphazardly. Little was said about Sonia’s murder. Vera’s stalker sure popped out of nowhere. Allie, Kaz, Ruby and Rita aren’t interesting in the least. Liz’s dementia is a bore too. Sadly, the series is going nowhere.

Sadly, Wentworth started out with a bang and is dying with a whimper. This season doesn’t even have a strong storyline. What is the point? Is it supposed to be a battle between Kaz and Marie? I am quickly losing interest. Perhaps it should have died with Bea? The episode scores a 5 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of Wentworth now.
