Wednesday Review

The show is void of many aspects that pushed “The Addams Family” to a roaring success in the 60s and 70s. Wednesday’s dull, gothic demeanor was to be expected but her special abilities were taken to the next level.

In the original story “The Addams Family, Morticia apparently was from a bloodline of witches which is where her psychic abilities came from. Wednesday targeted her cruelty toward Pugsley through strange experiments. Her uncanny strength was demonstrated on her father, Gomez, through a judo hold. As far as here supernatural powers, they were minimal at best.

They possibly failed to capitalize on “The Addams Family” brand. I commend the crew for exceptional cinematography. The editing, camera work, and lighting are of the highest quality.

I like the fact, the show humanizes Thing with real feelings and the courage to stand up to Wednesday.

The episode deserves a 6.5. Get more Wednesday recaps here. Support Reel Mockery by clicking the link.
