They give him enough money to cover their last order, their next order, and a little extra for his trouble. Jack asks Wang Chao (Hoon Lee) what he is doing there. Wang explains he is making an investment. Once the money is counted, Jack tells his men to give them the product. Douglas Strickland (Adam Rayner) visits Nellie Davenport (Miranda Raison).

He wants to know if she has reconsidered his offer. Although she made her position clear, he always hopes there is a deal to be made. Douglas says some folks may surmise that this is some kind of brothel with all those Chinese girls working there. He blames the politicians for getting everyone riled up with this Page Act business. Douglas wonders what would happen if the government caught wind of what’s happening there. Nellie says she has a dozen San Francisco police officers who will testify on her behalf. Douglas questions what they’d think of her sharing a bed with a Chinese woman. He says it is a reasonable offer. Nellie tells him to get the heck off of her land. Richard Lee (Tom Weston-Jones) tells Abigail about Moseley’s offer.

He admits he is considering it because they may be able to finally stop looking over their shoulders. Richard believes this is their only way to stay in San Francisco. Mai Ling tells her men that the attack on Li Yong was an act of cowardice by Muchen. The surviving members of the Three Brothers Tong will be sworn in soon. Kong Pak says Muchen ruled by fear so his hatchets will fall in line with him gone. Mai Ling (Dianne Doan) says they will proceed as planned, but she’d like to keep an eye on them. Later, Li Yong (Joe Taslim) finds Mai Ling with the dress Eliza gave her and learns she was invited to an art gallery. He worries she is spending too much time in the pond and suggests coming with her.

Mai Ling insists she will be fine. Agent Moseley and Richard Lee enter Benjamin Atwood’s office. Agent Moseley asks Benjamin to round up the Chinatown squad. Once Benjamin does, Richard tells Big Bill (Kieran Bew) and the others about the counterfeit operation. Edmund Moseley explains that they want the squad to test the local currency. In private, Bill reminds Richard that he told him he was done with police work. Richard says he was and will be again once this is over. Then, Richard says he is going to visit Wang Chao so Bill offers to come along to smooth things over with him. Richard believes he needs to do this his way. Ah Sahm speaks to Yan Mi (Chelsea Muirhead) about her decision to help the Hop Wei. He apologizes for what happened with her father.

Mai Ling goes to the art gallery with Eliza Pendleton (Jazzara Jaslyn). Eliza admits that no one comes there for the art and instead come to see and be seen. She introduces Mai Ling to her husband Bernard whose firm finances some of the largest construction projects in the city. Catherine Archer (Dominique Maher) speaks to Walter Buckley (Langley Kirkwood) about Eliza’s new project. When she asks why he didn’t call on her, Walter admits he just thought she was being polite. She can’t wait to watch him knock Thayer on his backside. Catherine recommends calling on her soon or she’ll become intolerable. Stewart hands off information proving Thayer’s brother-in-law was in a Chinese opium den as recently as last week. Dylan Leary approaches Mr. Strickland because he is there on behalf of Leonard Pierce.

Douglas hopes Pierce told Dylan that he never travels alone. He explains he isn’t a man to threaten. Instead, he is a man he should make a deal with. Douglas takes Dylan inside so they can chat. Yan Mi finds Ah Sahm working out with his nunchucks. She says they’re done printing and the bills will be dry in the morning. Ah Sahm has to pat her down before she leaves since Young Jun ordered it. Dylan and Douglas talk about Fightin’ Phil Sheridan. Douglas says his son, Louis, fell at the Battle of Sailor’s Creek and he lost his mother in childbirth. He thought he’d suffered the worst pain life has to offer, but he was wrong. Dylan prayed every day of the war that he’d make it home to his boys.

Although he did, the pox ended up taking them. Douglas says they paid it tenfold for the freedom to build something of their own. He doesn’t think Pierce and his cronies will ever understand that. Douglas sees Dylan as a political powerhouse instead of a thug. He is thinking too small and the problem he faces is built into the economics of the country. If he wants to change that, he’ll need the political capital that comes with real power. Young Jun speaks to his men about being stronger than ever. Tomorrow, they get back to being the baddest Tong in Chinatown. Wang Chao tells Ah Sahm that he doesn’t seem happy. Ah Sahm says printing wasn’t supposed to be the solution and they should be using the chop to buy more soldiers.

Wang warns him that Mai Ling is building an army. Ah Sahm doesn’t believe she’ll come directly at them again. Later, Richard visits Wang Chao at his business to talk to him about the counterfeiting operation. Richard mentions the witness who says a Chinese man sold them weapons at the docks before they were robbed. Then, he tells Chao that he isn’t a cop anymore. Since he works for the government, he can do things differently. If Chao gives him something useful, he’ll make sure he gets paid and stays out of jail. Chao refuses to cooperate with him. Moseley follows Chao until he loses him. Members of the Long Zii Tong confront Ah Sahm because he is on their territory. Mai Ling comes out and stops them from fighting. She speaks to him in private about her Tong setting up shop on Hop Wei territory.

Ah Sahm complains that she is parading around like the Queen of Chinatown while everyone else is suffering. She says he is acting like a sore loser. Ah Sahm is worried that the deal she made will blow up in her face in a matter of time. Mai Ling believes Young Jun is doing her job for her, but Ah Sahm doesn’t have to go down with him. Ah Toy (Olivia Cheng) talks to Nellie about Douglas. Nellie says Douglas likes to puff out his chest, but he realizes her lawyers can tie him up for years. She argues that he’ll find another route for the railroad. She won’t let anything happen to the girls. Young Jun hands out money to locals.  He tells Ah Sahm he is just helping out a few places that got hit by the ordinances.

Ah Sahm doesn’t like it because he thought they were being careful. Young Jun accuses Ah Sahm of calling him out. He goes on to explain that he is washing the money. He asks Ah Sahm to let him handle the big picture stuff. Ah Sahm is told to make sure that girl keeps printing. He goes back to the shop and speaks to Yan Mi. Ah Sahm gives her dumplings that she says are terrible. He goes with her since she wants to get something else. While they eat, Yan Mi tells Ah Sahm about the bedtime story featuring the god of thunder, Leigong. Yan saw him at the riot and says he came in like some avenging angel there to save them. When he came to the shop with Young Jun, she realized he was just a hatchet man. She suggests it isn’t too late for him to choose differently.

Hong watches the performer. After he performs, they end up going back to his room for sex. Hong reveals he has been in a Tong ever since his father kicked him out at 14. Marcel’s mother was indentured to a commodore in the Royal Navy. Once she died, he didn’t need him anymore so he has been there ever since. Pierce approaches Dylan to see if he spoke to Douglas. Dylan tells him it didn’t go his way. When Pierce comes at him, Dylan jabs a fork into his hand. Ah Sahm walks Yan home. He frisks her and tells her she is good. Once she goes inside, she retrieves money she stole from her hairpin. While Nellie and Ah Toy are outside at night, their fields begin burning. Ah Toy tells her to go inside. Douglas watches men start fires in the fields.

Warrior Review

This episode of Warrior was probably the best of the season so far thanks to the action and story-building. The series has a lot of unbelievable scenes, but that has always been true with Warrior. Nevertheless, it should be mentioned. Some of the accents are also strange with so much international talent and that can be a little odd.

Still, Warrior is good fun if viewers are willing to accept what is being offered. Most of the characters are legitimately interesting even if there are too many of them sometimes. Their relationships help maintain interest even when the action is slower although many viewers will probably watch Warrior for the action scenes.

In particular, the episode was a little slow until the action picked up towards the end and gave viewers so many things to look forward to. It is really just too bad that we’ll have to wait so long for another episode because viewers will be eager to see where things go after this one. This episode scores a 7 out of 10.
