Warrior Review

Well, that was a little extreme, wasn’t it? I am not sure how things got so extreme so quickly. It feels a bit rushed honestly since Samuel was never this unhinged in the past. While the episode started out well, it got a bit wonky there in the end. I mean the sex scene with Mai Ling and Li Yong was very strange and made little sense.

I am glad that Young Jun has taken over the tong though as I think this will make things interesting over the next few episodes. While I’ve enjoyed most episodes of Warrior this season, I can’t help but feel like something is missing this season. Some of the magic from the past season has disappeared only to be replaced by some really unbelievably silly character behaviors.

I am still enjoying the show but this episode was a bit weird. I’d give it a 7 out of 10. Previous recaps of Warrior are available on Reel Mockery.

Samuel had every reason to act unhinged.

Notice I didn’t say ‘good’ reason.

We already know that Samuel Blake already cuckolded by Penelope’s agency and given he was drunk AF and he has been humiliated by the anachronistically-misogynist masses throughout the prior season and this one, add in to the factor that IRL: Cismen wouldn’t get sentenced for killing their wives “in passion”, do you seriously think it was out-of-nowhere?
And on that note, mayhaps San Francisco Police may visit upon a “domestic disturbance” report from a neighbour/passerby? But do you surely think the all-[cis]men cops of the time would’ve given a fuck about any of that, viz. San Francisco Police at the time — had it occurred IRL? The sisters had nobody to help, so the only way the justice was gonna be served, was with vigilantism.

Thanks for chiming in. It has probably been a few years since I watched Warrior so I won’t try to argue about it lol. I am a bit surprised there hasn’t been another season though since I normally enjoyed it. Cheers and thanks for providing your opinion.
