Warrior Season 1 Episode 6 Recap

warrio s01e06 young jun ah sahm

As the episode begins, we see that the city is holding a parade of sorts. Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji) spends his time with Penelope (Joanna Vanderham). Suddenly, Young Jun (Jason Tobin) notices that something is wrong. He warns Bolo (Rich Ting). Bolo tries to save Father Jun (Perry Yung). Dynamite explodes around them. Father Jun isn’t dead just yet. Young Jun calls for a doctor after his father begins breathing. After the intro, Ah Sahm tells Penelope how he killed a man by accident. Nevertheless, he still feels bad about the incident. Big Bill (Kieran Bew) returns home with blood on his clothing. He finds Jack Damon (Brendan Sean Murry) in his kitchen.

Damon wants his money. Bill promises that he has it and will pay soon enough. Ah Sahm speaks to Young Jun about his father’s status. Young Jun knows that the Fung Hai were responsible. They go to Wang Chao (Hoon Lee) to get answers. Richard Lee (Tom Weston-Jones) believes that the Fung Hai are involved. He notices a strange man looking at him from the hallway. The man leaves soon enough. Big Bill doesn’t care about Lee’s theories. Big Bill has other orders for Lee. He wants him to guard his house that night. Young Jun tells the gang about the Fung Hai agreeing to be extra muscle for the Long Zii. He wants revenge and Ah Sahm agrees that he should make the decision.

Outside, Young Jun wonders if he is making a mistake. Ah Sahm tells him that he has his back. Senator Crestwood (Patrick Baladi) meets with Buckley (Langley Kirkwood) and Samuel Blake (Christian McKay). He explains that he is going to run for president. He cannot have Chinatown ruining his chances of winning. Later that night, Young Jun and the others strike back at the Fung Hai. Big Bill seeks out help from Dylan Leary (Dean Jagger). Leary agrees to help once he learns that Damon has been working for the Fung Hai. A message is delivering to the Long Zii. Li Yong (Joe Taslim) and Mai Ling (Dianne Doan) understand that something is wrong.

Big Bill’s wife speaks with Richard Lee. She learns that her husband lied about his whereabouts. Damon shows up at the bar. Leary forces him to go two rounds with him. Leary nearly kills them. He stops and forces Big Bill to finish the job. Bill does so reluctantly. Father Jun meets with the Long Zii leader. He tells them that they need to wipe out the Fung Hai. When Father Jung leaves, the Long Zii leaders tells Mai Ling and the others that they’re going to kill him anyway. Big Bill returns home. He tells his wife that everything has been dealt with. When left alone, he sobs.

Warrior

This episode of Warrior was okay. It did a good job of moving the story forward. Father Jun was nearly killed, but ended up surviving the explosion. The Hop Wei struck back and managed to renegotiate peace with the Long Zii. I guess the Big Bill drama has been lessened to some degree. Sometimes, I feel like there is too much going on at once. Take Big Bill as an example. I really couldn’t care less about the character. It just consumes time for no good reason.

I also feel that the relationship between Ah Sahm and Penelope is a little drug out. Did they really need to have sex for the first 8 minutes of the show? Nevertheless, I enjoy Warrior. I like it, but there are some things that I feel could be improved. The episode scores a 7 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of Warrior today!
