At the start of the episode, Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji) watches as Young Jun (Jason Tobin) and the Hop Wei kill Long Zii’s men. Jun goes a little overboard. The molasses is destroyed by fire. After the intro, Mai Ling (Dianne Doan) sleeps with Li Yong (Joe Taslim). They speak about Ling’s brother. She doesn’t believe he’ll stick around. So, he shouldn’t create any problems for them. Richard Lee (Tom Weston-Jones) is introduced to Bill’s family. Lee tells Bill (Kieran Bew) that they’ve been ordered to investigate last night’s murders. Ah Toy (Olivia Cheng) has one of her girls killed for working with Long Zii.

Lee and Bill find out that the victims are Morgan and Davis. Lee suspects that they were killed by the same person. It is clear that Bill has no intention of investigating thoroughly. Bill speaks with Leary (Dean Jagger) at the pub. Leary wants his money back. He tells Bill that the murders will not stand. Lee interrupts a short time later. Meanwhile, Penelope (Joanna Vanderham) goes shopping with her associate Jacob. Young Jun enters with Ah Sahm. Jun shakes down the owner of the store. Penny notices and stands up to them. When she leaves, Ah Sahm picks up the glove she dropped and decides to return it to her.

Lee and Bill are forced to deal with the new murders. Bill doesn’t let Lee investigate. He allows Long Zii’s men to haul away the dead bodies. Long Zii speaks with Mai Ling about opium. He believes they should avoid entering into competition with the Hop Wei. He suggests that the police will take care of them soon enough. Mai Ling believes they should act as quickly as possible. Penelope and Jacob are harassed in the street. Ah Sahm comes to their aid. Lee gets involved and Bill arrives a short time later. Despite Penelope’s protests, Ah Sahm is arrested. The Hop Wei discuss the arrest. It is made clear that they will not help Ah Sahm.

Lee tries to book in Ah Sahm. Sahm refuses to speak English. He is named John Chinaman and put into a cell after being disinfected. Penelope tries to speak with her husband about helping Ah Sahm. He refuses. She speaks with her father outside and says nothing about it. Bill wants to charge Ah Sahm with the murders. Lee doesn’t like the idea, but he obeys his boss. Penelope goes to the jail and visits Ah Sahm. She manages to get him to speak. He insists he is not a murderer. Penelope encourages him to fight the charges. Chao visits Toy’s brothel. After being serviced, he speaks with Toy. She tells him that playing both sides will get him killed one day.

Li Yong and Chao visit the man who betrayed the Long Zii gang. He is killed by Yong.

 

Warrior Review

I am enjoying Warrior. I do find a lot of it to be cheesy though. I think the writers are attempting to use gore and other shenanigans to shock viewers. It hasn’t worked on me and probably isn’t working on you either. Nevertheless, the story is very good and you can’t complain about the acting. I am definitely interested in seeing how things play out. The episode scores a 7 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of Warrior now!
