margo the durrells season 4 episode 2

As the episode begins, Lugaretzia (Anna Savva) screams in pain. Leslie (Callum Woodhouse) enters and tells Louisa (Keeley Hawes) about seeing Daphne and the baby. He admits that he would like to have his own family. Lugaretzia is sent home. Basil (Miles Jupp) tries to impress everyone with his new outfit. They’re not impressed at all. Soon, Colonel Ribbindane (Alex Macqueen) arrives and books a room with Louisa. After the intro, Gerald (Milo Parker) surprises Louisa with a letter. It reveals that Margo (Daisy Waterstone) has run off to live elsewhere. Louisa is concerned, but the men are not. Louisa storms out after a brief outburst.

That night, the Colonel annoys the family with his war stories. Gerald becomes angry when he finds out that the Colonel is interested in hunting. The Colonel believes the family is falling apart. Theo (Yorgos Karamihos) has invited Margo into his home. She is already getting on his nerves. She rearranges everything and puts new pictures on the wall. The Colonel offers Leslie money to take him hunting. Leslie agrees to help him find wild boar. Basil tells Gerald that he loves Louisa. Gerald tries to offer him advice in animal terms. Louisa gets a letter from Larry (Josh O’Connor). The dancer girls have left him. Moments later, Louisa speaks to Leslie about her relationship issues.

He offers to be her confidant. The following day, Louisa sees Spiros (Alexis Georgoulis) in town. He tells her that he hasn’t seen Margo. Leslie speaks with Daphne (Elli Tringou). He offers to take care of the child. Mr. Likourgos (Gerasimos Skiadaressis) enters. Leslie agrees to pay him to hunt wild boar on his land. Basil tries to score points with Louisa. He doesn’t seem to be doing very well. Gerald visits Theo and learns about Margo. Leslie tells the Colonel he has found a place for them to hunt. Leslie tries to explain his actions to Gerald. Margo nearly destroys a client’s hair. Theo manages to stop her just in time. Gerald tells Galini (Olivia Lebedeva-Alexopoulou) that he is going to stop the Colonel from hunting.

Spiros delivers items to the Durrell house. When he does, he speaks to Leslie about the hunting expedition. He tells Leslie that Mr. Likourgos doesn’t own the license and there are no boars on the land. Spiros becomes jealous when he spots Louisa speaking to Basil. Leslie and Louisa discuss her relationship options. Leslie conjures up ways to get rid of Spiros’s wife. Margo works with her client again. She actually does good this time. In fact, the client tells her that she trusts her. Leslie tries to steal a pig from Gerald. He doesn’t have the heart to do it. Louisa tries to get information from Gerald. He refuses to say anything about Margo’s whereabouts. The Colonel prepares for the hunting expedition. Daphne arrives with the baby. She forces Leslie to take the baby despite his job with the Colonel.

Margo finds out that she is driving Theo insane. She agrees to leave, but just needs a little bit longer. Leslie gets Basil to help him. Basil will climb a tree and make wild boar noises. In return, Leslie will help him with Louisa. When Louisa returns home, Basil gives her a gift. It is a wood bridge. He promises to dig a trench for water later. Louisa learns where Margo has been and goes after her. This forces Leslie to take the baby with him. Basil finally makes the animal noises. The Colonel prepares to fire. Gerald and Galini emerge from the woods. Gerald intends to stop him from hunting. The Colonel tells Leslie that he wants his money back, before taking aim at Gerald. Leslie tacks the Colonel and this causes his bullet to barely miss Gerald.

Margo speaks with her month. They attempt to sort through their problems. Margo tells her mother that she is going to England. She wants to train beauty properly. Theo puts the furniture out of place. It appears his time with Margo has helped him as well. Back at home, Margo becomes angry with the men in her life. Basil tries to cheer her up. He learns that he made a mistake with the bridge. She tells Basil to stay, relax and find someone nice in town. Spiros drops the dancers off at the Durrell house. Louisa speaks with Spiros in private. She basically tells him that they can not have a relationship while Spiros is with his wife.

The dancers go swimming naked. Basil confirms that he will be staying. Lugaretzia returns to work. Louisa holds a party for all of her female friends. The Colonel decides to leave. Leslie tells Louisa that children are a nightmare.

The Durrells In Corfu Review

This episode of The Durrells was pretty good. The show has never really lost its roots. It maintains the same charm and lightheartedness that made it a hit early on. I have a feeling that this will probably be the last season though. Milo Parker’s voice is starting to deepen and that is really giving away his age. On the other hand, I would keep watching it regardless of this minor flaw. The episode was funny and uplifting. I enjoyed it. A 7.5 out of 10 deserved.
