The Beautiful Lie Review

I’ve been meaning to watch The Beautiful Lie for a very long time. I’ve finally gotten around to watching the first episode and I am glad that I had nothing better to do. The acting is spectacular. The story is great so far. The only thing that irks me is the unrealistic nature of some of the characters. The Ballantyne family isn’t relatable in the least. Almost everyone in the show is super rich and that makes it somewhat difficult to connect with them. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the opener.

I can’t wait to watch the rest of the series. The opener scores a good 8 out of 10.

There are a bit of errors throughout such as the taxi driver gets hit by an oncoming bus – not a car. The conversation with Skeet and Anna at Dolly’s house discussing that very incident is quite a vital conversation that should be recapped as it foreshadows her ending.

Otherwise it’s a quite detailed recap.

Thanks for chiming in. I started watching this a long time ago and could never find the remaining episodes so they never got recapped. I couldn’t find subtitles for it either and unfortunately I couldn’t get all of the fine details.

I did end up watching it later but didn’t recap it. Great show overall.

That’s okay, those were just little things I picked up on in regards to the first episode. It’s a great series I absolutely love it. Weird to think the first time I watched it was on a DVD and now I’ve just finished watching it on Netflix!

        • ReelMockery says:

Indeed. Hard to believe it was released so long ago. May try to go back and watch it again and recap it more thoroughly. Will see if I can fit it into my schedule. I generally don’t like rewatching TV shows, but this one I definitely could! Thanks for stopping by.
