Second Season Of BBC Drama The Split Goes Into Production

This week, BBC One announced that the second season its drama The Split had gone into production. The announcement was made on March 21, 2019. The series is headed by award-winning writer Abi Morgan, who is best known for River, The Hour and Suffragette. It is executive produced by Jane Featherstone.

The Split is set in the faced-pace world of London’s ritzy divorce circuit. The authentic, multi-layered television show examines modern marriage and the implications of divorce. The series follows three sisters, Hannah, Nina and Rose Defoe. It also follows their mother Ruth.

The first series averaged 5.7 million viewers. It ended with Hannah’s marriage forming cracks after Nathan’s affair was revealed. The family experienced joy and despair with the return and untimely death of estranged father and husband Oscar.

The Defoes are back at a newly merged law firm Noble Hale Defoe. Former rivals will now share a seat on the same side of the table. The Split stars Nicola Walker, Annabel Scholey, Fiona Button, Deborah Findlay and Stephen Mangan. The series is co-produced with SundanceTV. Further details are available here.
