As the episode begins, Nelly (Lennie James) questions Luke (Alexander Arnold) about Jody’s disappearance. It is clear that Luke knows something. He eventually admits that he had Gavin used the situation to get at Nelly. They found out how to spoof calls and make it seem that Jody was calling Nelly. Luke refuses to say anything else. He tries to force Nelly to beg him for answers. Instead, Nelly smacks him in the face.

Afterwards, Nelly meets with the detective. He pleads with her to give him one day. She finds Luke locked up and beaten. Melon (Stephen Graham) relaxes with Bernie (Alice Feetham). She asks him about the young girl he met. Melon promises that he did very little with her. Bernie isn’t convinced. She doesn’t know why Melon didn’t grab the girl and run for it. Nelly gives Claire (Suranne Jones) and update.

He promises to get Jody back for her. In the morning, Stace wakes up Claire. She finds out that she has been sleeping with Nelly. Claire speaks with the detective. Claire learns that there is not enough evidence to hold Luke and he is going to be pressing charges against Marky and Nelly. Tam (Jason Flemyng) meets with Melon and Bernie. He promises to talk to Nelly and convince him to leave Nelly out of it. Meanwhile, Nelly shares a drink with Stace.

Again, he promises Claire that he will get Jody. Luke is released. Melon and Nelly head to the pub. Melon leaves him hanging. Nelly goes in alone. Nelly is given instructions before being allowed inside. Melon breaks Teens’s car window and grabs Nelly’s knife. He speaks with Richard. He wants Richard to tell everyone that he is different from Richard. Claire receives a call from Nelly. They listen in as the bidding beings.

Nelly is outbid. He continues bidding anyway. He is eventually thrown out. It doesn’t seem that anyone won the auction. Goz leads Claire to Luke. He attempts to have sex with him for information about Claire. Luke gives her the possible whereabouts. She passes the information to Nelly. Nelly rushes to the location. He finds a bunch of empty RVs. In one, there is a young girl. It isn’t Jody, but she looks similar.

Nelly talks to Jody and promises not to stop searching for her. The police arrive and the girl is taken away. Later, Nelly is allowed to speak with the girl. She admits that she saw other girls like her. Then, she is escorted away by the detective. Nelly heads to the club and shares drinks with his friends. Life continues on as normal as the episode ends.

 

Save Me Review

This episode of Save Me was good, but slightly disappointing. It is clear that the writers and producers wanted a second series. At this point, a second series is needed. It would be disappointing if there wasn’t one. Still, the finale was pretty good. It was nice to see Nelly at least save someone. The semi-sex between Claire and Luke was really lame.

I just hope it gets a second season. If it does, the finale was okay. If it doesn’t, the finale was pretty disappointed. A 7.5 out of 10 is deserved. Catch up with previous recaps of Save Me right now!
