gavin save me episode 5

As the episode begins, Melon and Nelly (Lennie James) manage to get into Richard’s club. Richard admits that he got Nelly wrong. He didn’t know how fresh he was. Richard decides to get Tonka a call. Melon (Stephen Graham) explains that he is trying to check them out to ensure that they’re safe. Moments later, Melon becomes angry that being in the club is against the terms of his release. He tells Nelly that he is drowning and that these people will not trust him overnight. In the morning, Luke (Alexander Arnold) plays a joke on Gavin. Gavin (Ragevan Vasan) becomes upset and claims that they’re done. Claire (Suranne Jones) gets a call from the police. They confirm that Jody’s blood was on the shirt.

Nelly tries to get ahold of her. Stace and Teens confronts Nelly. He promises to pay Teens back for her missing trolley. Nelly gets a call from Claire and learns that it was Jody’s blood on the jacket. Barry (Barry Ward) and BJ discuss Claire not coming home or answering her phone. Nelly meets with Claire. He tells her all about the club and what he has been doing. Meanwhile, Luke tells Goz to go into Gavin’s room to get his pipe. When he does, he finds a picture of Jody in Gavin’s desk. He says nothing about it to Luke. Nelly continues trying to explain his actions to Claire. They wind up sleeping together.

Goz confronts Gavin. Gavin says that Goz (Thomas Coombes) knows nothing. Bernie (Alice Feetham) confronts Nelly and tells him to do right by Melon. Nevertheless, Melon escorts Nelly to the club again. At the club, Nelly is confronted by a young girl. She then speaks with Melon alone. They leave together. Richard speaks with Nelly about his lolly or the first girl who caught his eye. Nelly visits Zita’s (Camilla Beeput) apartment for a shower. When he gets up, he tries to get in touch with Melon. Then, he finds Bernie and Tam (Jason Flemyng) together. Bernie is upset that Melon has returned. Nelly promises to find him.

Goz continues contemplating the picture and what to do. Later, Nelly meets with Melon at a café. Melon begins vomiting. He tells Nelly that he had to do something terrible for him. He explains that they’re going to be selling Jody to the highest bidder. They need a grand to get into the door and 15 grand to buy her. Nelly and Melon visit Richard. They give him the car key to get into the room for the biding. Nelly tells Claire about it. She agrees to get the money. Stace doesn’t believe it will be a good idea. Nelly is convinced that it is Jody. Gavin speaks with Nelly at the pub. He asks about Goz. Nelly doesn’t know about the picture yet.

Claire asks Barry about the money. He agrees to get 12 grand together. Gavin steps outside and spots Luke. Luke watches as Gavin steps in front of a moving truck. Luke and the others drink at the pub. Nelly tries to convince Tam to help him get Melon to go with him to Richard’s club again. They head to Stace’s pub together. Goz shows Nelly the picture he found in Gavin’s desk. Luke pretends to know nothing. He insists that Gavin wasn’t that type of person. He says something about saltfish dumplings. Everyone manages to calm Nelly down.

Everyone begins leaving. Nelly jump in front of Luke and tells him to sit back down. He orders Goz to close the door. He is clearly suspicious because the saltfish dumplings line. Nelly begins to question Luke as the episode ends.

Save Me Review

Save Me has been captivating. Each episode has gotten better and better. I am still not sure what actually happened, but Luke and Gavin definitely knew more than they were letting on. The finale should be intriguing. I cannot wait to find out what Luke knows about Jody’s disappearance. Does Richard really intend to sell Jody or is it another girl?

This series is easily binge worthy. I’ll pace myself with it though. This episode was great. An 8.5 out of 10 is deserved. Catch up with previous recaps of Save Me right now!
