Savage River River

The pace is unbearably slow at times. The cinematography is somewhat improved.

As Miki tries to ease back into her former life in Savage River, some locals have more sinister things on their minds. Hugh’s body is discovered in water during a celebration. Colleen isn’t ready to accept his death while everyone points the finger at Miki.

I get annoyed with all the finger-pointing. On one hand, they paint a pretty picture of Savage River. On the other hand, it is a despairing town with boatloads of issues, including a corrupt meat processing plant. All the way up to the Mayor and all the way down to the lowly meat packer, every last one has issues. The people of Savage River are beginning to look more hopeless with every episode.

If you’ve been watching the carefully, you know Hugh stepped on some toes when he confronted Kevin about his mistreatment of the migrant workers. Kevin is on the verge of selling meatworks and any foul rumors could stand in his way. It’s worth mentioning, Salim washed blood out of Nick’s truck. Was it Hugh’s blood?
