Poldark Review

Although it was a little predictable, this was a good episode of Poldark. In the end, it seems that Hugh had nothing to fight for without Demelza by his side. I felt that he might have willed himself to death to some degree. I was hoping that Sam would stomp Tom Harry, but he relented in the end. Sam and Drake have been wonderful additions to the show. They’re stealing the spotlight often.

Ross managed to beat George in the election. There is a good chance that he is going to face a lot of blowback from here on out. That should be interesting. The episode was good. It scores a solid 8 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of Poldark right now!

This was indeed a good episode, but I’ve got some issues with it:

    1) I’m sorry, but Armitage was annoying as all hell. There are other fish in the sea, buddy, you’re gonna let yourself die because of Demelza? Then he lies there when Poldark comes into the room to see him and honestly if I’m Poldark, I might give him a whack to the knees. How about a “hey, I’m sorry for cuckolding you” type look at least? Armitage is all about him and his poetic romanticism. No one has ever loved like him. Grow up and get some backbone, buddy.

    2) Tom later claimed that he didn’t let Tom Harry beat him because he had relations w/ Emma. But, he obviously did, why else did he do it?

    3) No one has it worse in this show than poor Morwenna… she just needs to go and poison the vicar already. Why not, worst case is she gets caught and get sentenced to death. That’s still better than life with Footsy McGee.

    4) What’s up with Morwenna’s sister? She needs more screen time, did she have the affair with the vicar because she kind of liked him, as a favor to spare Morwenna or for the money? Or, maybe all the above? She’s a mystery.

    5) Elizabeth might be truly worse than her husband, because she actually knows better and still acts the way she does. Now she’s all into George all of a sudden… why exactly? Because he was nice for a couple weeks? Please, she is shallow and evil.

Conclusion: I’m way more into this show than I should be.
