The revolutionary reality television show Wife Swap was first broadcast on ABC in 2004. The original series ran 124 episodes with 40 celebrity spin-off episodes. In March of 2018, it was announced that Wife Swap had been picked up by CMT.

That plan never came to fruition. Now, Paramount has decided to reboot the series for 10 brand-new episodes. Those episodes are slated to premiere on the Paramount Network on April 4, 2019 at 9 PM Eastern Time. The television series takes two totally different families and switches spouses. Viewers are delighted to see how different and divided people really are.

The new season of Wife Swap is produced by Banijay Studios North America. The new participating families will be forced to face today’s hot-button issues such as politics, race and gender. The ultimate goal is to help the participants find common ground. At the end of each episode, the couples will meet face-to-face to discuss what they’ve learned from the experience and how it shaped their lives.
