It’s official, Netflix will continue the epic BBC crime drama, “Luther,” created by Neil Cross (Hard Sun, The Mosquito Coast). Idris Elba will grace the stage once again as the DCI John Luther.
The six-part BBC psychological crime thriller premiered on May 4, 2010, on BBC One. The show was commissioned for a second season which aired in June 2011. The fifth season of four episodes finalized the series in 2019.
In the Netflix adaption, “Luther: The Fallen Sun,” Luther will take on a serial killer known for leaving behind gruesome devastation on London streets. First, the disgraced detective must strategize a plan to get himself released from prison.

When Will Luther: The Fallen Sun Be Released
“Luther: The Fallen Sun,” directed by Jamie Payne (Outlander, The White Princes, Primeval), will be released in March 2023, on Netflix.
