BAFTA-winning writer Jack Thorne is back with the four-part fictional drama Best Interests. The series is being directed by Michael Keillor who is best known for Roadkill and Strike. Best Interests follows a family torn apart by having to make nightmarish decisions. Michael Sheen and Sharon Horgan portray a married couple, Andrew and Nicci respectively with two daughters, Katie and Marnie.
Since Marnie has a life-threatening condition, doctors recommend letting the girl die, but her family disagrees. The family’s struggle will take them through each stage of the legal process as they attempt to come to grips with their impending loss. Other cast members include Noma Dumezweni, Chizzy Akudolu, Des McAleer, Mat Fraser, Gary Beadle, Jack Morris, Pippa Haywood, Shane Zaza, Lucian Msamati, and Lisa McGrillis.
Best Interests will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer sometime in 2023.
