Five At Five – The episode opens with Iris (Emma Laird) asking Milo Sunter (Aidan Gillen) if he has spoken to Candace (Carmen Johnson). After a flashback of Candace lying on the floor deceased, he acknowledges she told him that it was her. She claims to have thought he died during the prison riot. He asks if she was with Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner). She curses Mike before denying having sex with him.

SWAT raids The Commons. Ian (Hugh Dillon) tells Esther (Juanita Jennings) that the raid is regarding her grandson, Deverin “Bunny Washington (Tobi Bamtefa).

Special Agent Song (Frank Licari) sarcastically says Iris ran away from Mariam McLusky’s (Dianne Wiest) house. Mike says denies any knowledge of where she fled. Song reminds him of his being a paid federal informant. Mike warns him that Milo will kill Iris if she’s forced to testify.

Rebecca (Nicole Galicia) tells Mike that he doesn’t have to live Iris’s life. He assures her that he’s only trying to save her by removing her from that type of life.

Stevie (Derek Webster) claims they received a tip from CI of illegal drug activity at The Commons. Mike asks when isn’t illegal drug activity going on there. He reminds them of the deal he made with the gang leaders that protect them from attacks while inside. Ian says Bunny is your drug dealer. Mike tells them to not forget what Bunny’s doing for them on the inside. Ian and Stevie assure him that they paid them a lot of respect. Mike asks if they are trying to start a war on the streets. Ian says, “F**k them.”

Bunny complains about the heat when prison guard, Carney (Lane Garrison) calls his name. Raphael (D Smoke) tells him that isn’t why he’s there. Bunny suggests the guard’s Mike’s boy. Raphael assures him that he doesn’t need instructions from Mike to run the prison. Bunny says if Mike’s plan works, they’ll get their pound, otherwise, they run the prison their own way.

Bunny demands Mike give him assurances. Mike guarantees he’ll get something from the Assistant DA by next week. Bunny says the guards need to turn their backs at 5:00 tomorrow while they knock off some chips. On his way out of Tent City, Mike informs Carney of their plan. Carney reminds him of Captain Kareem Moore (Michael Beach). Mike says Kareem’s management so keep him insulated.

Kyle McLusky (Taylor Handley) enters the Homicide Division where he’s greeted by Ian and Stevie.  Kyle informs Ian of his superiors suspending him without pay. Ian says they need him there on the street. Kyle asks what will it take to get him back in the Homicide Division. Ian assures him that the officials won’t put him back on the street until the IA report clears.

Kyle tells Mike that he needs a job for several months until the IA report comes back clean. Mike suggests he take a break and help their mother. Kyle admits it would drive him crazy. Mike tells him to search for Iris. Kyle tells him that a job for KPD or the feds.

Mike asks Joseph (George Tchortov) if he’s had any contact with Milo. Joseph admits to being very loyal to Milo. Mike tells him that he is Milo’s errand boy. Joseph asks what he expects will happen when a whore works with the feds. Mike attacks Joseph and his guy when Tatiana “Tati” (Gratiela Brancusi) carrying a baby approaches. Joseph orders her to leave. Mike warns him that he’ll be back.

A concierge doctor (Vadim Brunell) places a tracking device in Iris’ right lower quad. Joseph warns that she better not make less than $5k a night.

Warwick Detention – Evelyn Foley (Necar Zadegan), Kareem, and Mike take a tour. The private prison is operated by the Warwick Group. Wendy (Sandrine Hold) tells them that Warwick is the only correctional institute that didn’t see violence during the riot. Kareem points out that the prison doesn’t permit the inmates’ yard time. The prison doesn’t have an onsite commissary or cafeteria. She says the Warwick Group will take control of every prison in Kingstown in five years. Kareem reminds her that Tent City is only temporary. She informs them of Warwick’s plan to start relocating inmates from Tent City to Anchor Bay in the next week. The overflow will move into the Warwick Detention facility. He says it’s already overbooked. She assures him that they are very familiar with warehousing.

Tati assures Iris that she’ll do find. Iris asks if Milo has been by. Tati tells her that she can only go to Milo when he calls before giving her some drugs. Iris pops a pill in her mouth before laying back on the bed.

Tati approaches as Mike emerges from his car. She claims to know where Iris is staying. She warns that Iris will be punished for intentionally underperforming. He asks if she’s with Milo. She agrees to leave the door open leading to the alley.

Mike enters the club through the rear door. He’s walking down a hall when someone clunks him on the head. When he comes through, Joseph suggests Iris is dead or in bed with a rich man. Mike asks if the baby belongs to him. Joseph tells him that it’s none of his business. Mike asks if Milo knows he’s back in Kingstown. Joseph hits him. Mike pulls his gun before fleeing.

Bunny acknowledges Gunner (Dylan Kenin) and Luis (Rinaldo Fabrerlle). Several fights break out a short distance away. When Dedrick (Marcus Brandon) approaches, Bunny asks if they’re brothers. Dedrick says no when another inmate punches Bunny. The guards on the tower have their backs turned. The fighting stops with Bunny, Luis, and Gunner still alive.

Bunny tells Mike that he didn’t bother telling him about the raid on his family. Mike assures him that he knew nothing about it. Bunny says he should have known. Mike tells him that they’re not friends. Bunny warns if he isn’t released in 48 hours, they’ll be payback. Mike tells Carney that he’ll suffer the same way Bunny suffers as the episode comes to an end.

 

Mayor Of Kingstown Review

Iris ends back up at Joseph’s club. She receives a new microchip before her first client. Joseph warns her that $4K a day will warrant some type of punishment. During a visit to the club, Mike sees Tati with a baby. Joseph refuses to say if the baby is his.

Kingstown Police Department orders a raid on Bunny’s home while he’s in prison. Mike visits the prison but says nothing about the raid. When Bunny finds out, he threatens payback if he isn’t released in 48 hours.

Bunny, Gunner, and Luis plan to take out a few inmates. Carney agrees to turn away while it goes down. Dedrick refuses to work with Bunny to stop the violence inside and outside. Bunny is attacked but survives.

Kyle was suspended without pay following an officer-involved shooting. He can’t return to KPD until the IA report comes back clean. Mike offers him a job finding Iris but he refuses.

The Warwick Group is preparing to take over every prison in Kingstown. The Warwick Detention facility has limited amenities for inmates. No cafeteria or yard are just two examples. Within the week, inmates will be transferred from Tent City to Anchor Bay. Kareem voices his concern about overcrowding. Wendy with the Warwick Group says they’ll deal with it by warehousing inmates in other facilities.

Tati informs Mike of Iris being at Joseph’s club. He enters through the alleyway door but doesn’t get too far before Joseph’s men capture him. He gets away without Iris.

Mostly unrealistic, predictable, and amateurish. In the last scene, Bunny’s face looks like mush when in fact, he only gets hit a handful of times. The scene in which Mike escapes Joseph’s club is ridiculous. Mike knew Kyle wouldn’t have any money coming in for several months. Instead of offering him a job, Mike wants him to put his and Tracy’s lives in danger to find Iris. Don’t forget, Iris left of her own free will.
