London Spy is a new television drama, which is set to debut on BBC in October of 2015. The series, which was written and created by Tom Rob Smith, will feature 5 episodes. The show will star Ben Whishaw (Criminal Justice) and Jim Broadbent (Any Human Heart). Edward Holcroft and Charlotte Rampling will also play major roles in the series.
So, what is it about? Well, the story will focus on a romance between two individuals, who are from completely different ends of the spectrum. One is a member of the Secret Intelligence Series, while the other is a free spirit and club lover! After Alex (Edward Holcroft) disappears, Danny (Ben Whishaw) is forced to go on the hunt, but is he ill prepared for the task, at hand?
If you haven’t figured out, the series will feature two homosexual characters. Perhaps, BBC is attempting to make up for their mistake of ending In The Flesh? The television series is written by Tom Rob Smith, who is also responsible for Child 44, which was adapted into a film. A compilation trailer of BBC Two’s upcoming dramas has been bundled together. It features a few select scenes from London Spy.

The short scenes with Whishaw and Broadbent are definitely compelling. I also loved Charlotte Rampling in Broadchurch Season 2, so I will definitely do my best to check out the series. How about you? Will you be watching? Be sure to let me know in the comments!
