Kin Review

The story improves as the family struggles with Jamie’s murder. There was absolutely no point to the oral sex scene. It felt like a propaganda scene. Clare Dunne is a great actress but the morgue scene was a bit overacted. I can’t blame this completely on her because the writing is extremely bad. Knowing Jamie is dead, Amanda demands to see her son.

While the cinematography is intentional, half of the screen is blocked by a wall. This technique works when the videographer is trying to achieve a creepy spy shot. There is no call for it in this episode. The wall does nothing but block the view. The camera shaking in sync with the character’s movement is nauseating. A blurry character gradually comes into focus closer to the camera. All great film techniques when utilized appropriately. It isn’t impressive when the techniques are overused.

The episode deserves a 5.5. Get more Kin recaps here. Support Reel Mockery by donating. Our onsite advertising is a great way to build online awareness, click the link to learn more. Join our newly established forum to discuss the latest TV shows, films, and celebrity happenings.
