Strangers In A Strange Land – The episode begins with Sheriff Boyd (Harold Perrineau) ringing a bell to alert the townsfolk of darkness approaching soon. His right hand begins to tremble until his entire body is violently shaking. Waking up from a daydream, he fails to escape the abandoned well.

Elgin (Nathan D Simmons) wakes as the bus enters town. As Tom (Reid Price) exits the bar, an approaching bus grabs his attention. As he looks on, Elgin tries to convince the driver, Bakta (Angela Moore) to stop. When Randall (AJ Simmons) grabs him from behind, he vomits, forcing Bakta to bring the bus to a stop.

Colony House – To protect the radio equipment, Jade (David Alpay) and the others bring it in out of the rain. Amidst moving the equipment, the bus catches his attention. Donna (Elizabeth Saunders) urges the residents to remain calm during an electrical surge due to the rain. Noticing her father, Jim Matthews (Eion Bailey) missing, Julie Matthews (Hannah Cheramy) asks Donna where he is but doesn’t get a response. When she leaves the Colony House, Donna orders Ellis (Corteon Moore) to bring her back. Jade informs her of the commuter bus.

Jim Matthews (Eion Bailey) evaluates the damage inside the cellar while Victor (Scott McCord) and Tabitha (Catalina Sandino Moreno) are searching for a way out of the tunnel below. He continues his search to find her whether she is dead or alive.

Beneath The Town – Making their way through the town’s complex tunneling system, Tabitha questions the route they’re taking. Victor claims the Boy in White (Vox Smith) told him how to navigate the tunneling system when they discover a suitcase. They open it to discover a white lacy material.

The Colony House – Kristi (Chloe Van Landschoot) tends to the glass in Clara’s (Katerina Bakolias) eye. Donna and the newly-appointed sheriff, Kenny (Ricky He) discuss the sudden unexpected arrival of the newcomers. Donna orders Matthias (Matthias Fenez) to gather the shotguns. Kenny wants to take a softer approach and tries to dissuade her by saying that the guns won’t be necessary. Donna reminds him that he is now the person in charge.

In the pouring rain, Randall leads the charge to help the others inside the diner. Spinning and twirling in the rain, an elderly passenger (Deborah Grover) fails to convince the others to join in.

A pediatric nurse, Mari (Kaelen Ohm) assesses Elgin while Brick (Seamus Patterson) watches. Batka searches for supplies to clean up the vomit.

Elgin’s apologies fall on deaf ears. Julie searches for Jim while Ellis and Tom discuss the newcomers before Tom introduces himself.

Matthew’s Home – After finding Jim, Julie realizes her mother is missing. To distract her, he questions where Ethan (Simon Webster) is before he asks her to go for help. He realizes digging out the massive pit will require more manpower than just himself.

As Ellis and Tom try to keep the newcomers calm, Julie informs the others of the terrible condition of her parent’s basement. Tom and Randall initiate a rescue mission.

Victor escorts the others through the underground tunnel. When Tabitha tries to ask questions, he reminds her to be quiet. The danger grows as they continue forward.

Boyd calls out for help from above. His attempts to reach Sarah (Avery Konrad) are disturbed by a mysterious male voice before a rope is dropped into the well.

Colony House – Clara asks Jade if a powerful outside source contributed to the electrical surge to dissuade further rescue attempts. He admits to having no clue but intends to enjoy his last joint to the fullest. As she prepares to leave, he begins hallucinating until a creepy puppet grabs his attention. Seconds pass before the puppet lets out a harrowing scream. His only response is to scream.

Ethan (Simon Webster) hands Elizabeth Moy (Tian Chen Liu) a dustpan and brook to aid in the cleanup. Before departing, he asks her when she thinks the others will return. She promises to help him and be there to comfort his fears.

In her broken English, Elizabeth then goes through a spill about protecting him and comforting his fears. He assures her that he isn’t afraid before joining Jade outside. After a bit of back and forth about the dangers of cigarettes, Jade brings up the failed rescue attempt. Ethan assures him that he will give it another try. Jade is more concerned about finding which room belongs to Victor.

While taking a break, Victor sees the same puppet in Jade’s hallucinations. Frightened, he drops his flashlight before fleeing. Tabitha comforts him before restarting their journey through the tunneling system.

Victor’s Room At The Colony House – Jade is searching for answers to some unasked questions in Victor’s room. Ethan tells him that he isn’t keen on his intrusion. Jade suggests Victor is already dead before apologizing for being so blunt. Ethan says his theory is everyone plays a part in the nightmare. When Jade finds what he is looking for, Ethan asks why he is so interested in Victor. Jade explains how he found the journal and his recent hallucinations. Ethan says the insignia is a sign. Jade is none too thrilled when he realizes it will be up to him to determine if it is good or evil.

In the diner parking lot, Donna explains the oddity, the newcomers have found themselves in. With night on the brink, she rushes her explanation. The doubt on Batka’s face is clear, as Elgin has recuperated enough to make it off the bus under the watchful care of Mari.

Jim can now access the interior of the pit but not before the structure comes crashing down. The newcomers outside the diner witness the collapse. Julie rushes over to check on Jim to find him responsive. Kristi and Kenny assist Randall out of the debris.

Tabitha and Victor are forced to stop when they encounter a small rock statue. A ball rolling from the far corner brings the statue crumbling down. The commotion disturbs several monsters sleeping nearby. Now that their path is completely blocked, a trail of water catches her attention. They follow the water trail to a room with a small pond.

Randall and Elgin are quickly assessed for injuries. While retrieving a first aid kit from the bus, Mari and Kristi realize they have a past. They dated back home.

In The Well – Boyd slowly makes his way out of the well when he hallucinates about his son, Ellis. Startled, he slips back down into the well several feet. Composing himself, he starts scaling toward the entrance.

The residents and newcomers have joined efforts to get Jim, Tom, and Brick out of the debris. Jim discovers the rescue effort is weakening the structure. He informs his findings to the others. He suggests taking a more precautious approach. Distraught, Julie reminds him that sunset is approaching quickly. They decide to delay the rescue until later.

Bakta is concerned about getting the passengers back on the bus. Rushing over to retrieve her shotgun, Donna shoots out the front passenger tire. When the newcomers scatter in different directions, Fatima (Pegah Ghoffori) hurriedly brings them back together. Ellis (Coreton Moore) follows to keep her safe. Kenny shoots into the air to get the people under control.

In The Well – Boyd climbs to safety out of the well. A frail man shackled to the wall catches his attention. He hurriedly aims his gun at the old man who suggests he kill him.  to see a frail man shackled to the wall. He aims his gun at the old man who suggests he kill him as the episode ends.

From Review

The second season started out strong with a busload of newcomers arriving in town. The action held my attention from start to finish with minimal filler. An interesting twist, Mari and Kristi have a personal past which is a first for the show.

Despite some hiccups, the acting is good enough to add realism to the story. The house collapse was amateurish and robotic-like as it was broken into segments. I’m looking forward the episode two.
