Creamerie Season 1 Finale Episode 6 Recap

As the finale of Creamerie begins, Pip (Perlina Lau) is taken to the operation room where two women work on Alex (Ally Xue) and Jaime (JJ Fong). Constance (Nikki Si’ulepa) tells the doctor that Lane wants them to take care of Pip immediately. When the two women turn around, Constance quickly shoots them with the bliss bullets. Then, they slap Alex and Jaime around a bit to get them to wake up. Pip puts a cotton ball on Alex’s wound before Constance gives her the gun and says she needs to bliss her. Alex agrees to do it to make it look good. Constance turns around, gets on her knees, and tells Alex she hates her. Alex says she knows before shooting her. The women run away from the Wellness center. They stop so Alex and Jaime can complain about being half-naked.

Alex ridicules Pip’s actions which caused her to get drilled in the head. She goes on to say she would’ve never done something like this to Pip. Then, she asks Pip what she has to say for herself. Pip struggles to apologize and tries to use ET to do so. She admits she is a crappy friend and doesn’t know how to come back from this. She promises Jaime she’ll spend every minute trying to make this up to her. They turn their attention to stopping Lane and getting Bobby back from her. However, Alex and Jaime want undies before tackling those issues. They find a building and immediately break in to get supplies. While looking around, Pip finds a cattle prod. Lane (Tandi Wright) drives her van with Bobby (Jay Ryan) in the back. She spots a cow in the road and has to slam on the brakes. Within seconds, Pip rushes up, opens the door, and shocks her with the cattle prod.

She hits the radio to shut it up while Jaime brings wire to tie up Lane. Pip takes the necklace from Lane’s neck and gives it back to Jaime while apologizing. Jaime cuts the restraints from Bobby’s arms and legs, but he doesn’t want to go with them. Alex opens the other door before trying to find out what is going on with Bobby. Eventually, Bobby says he is going nowhere with Pip. He goes on to say he wishes he could go back in time to ensure he never had to deal with any of those crazy women. Lane wakes up and pulls a gun on everyone. First, Alex gets in front of Bobby to prevent him from being shot. Then, Jaime joins them. Lane tells Pip not to test her because she knows what happens when people test her, but Pip shields Bobby as well. They get into a brief argument. Pip grabs the gun and pushes it aside as Lane fires and misses everyone. A struggle ensues and Lane begins choking Pip until Alex shocks both using the cattle prod.

By the time things calm down, the women learn Bobby is gone and someone is headed in their direction. They watch from the wooded area as two women find Lane in the back of the van and help her. Pip tells Jaime to take the necklace. They know where Bobby is going and will need to get there before he does. He walks to the Hiro Valley Sports Ground building and tries to find whoever is inside. He can’t see anyone from the outside. He slips inside after pushing a sliding door open. He finds what appears to be several cells. When Alex and the others arrive, Bobby tries to get them to leave. He tells them they don’t care about him and only want to help themselves before the hunter (Sara Wiseman) enters and scares them. Pip asks whether she is there to kill the man or everyone, but Hunter says she’d be stupid to kill the one she was sworn to protect.

The doors and windows are covered within seconds. Hunter says they’re not safe there as she tries to ram the door. The room begins filling with gas so Hunter tells them to cover their mouths. They frantically begin searching for a way to escape. They climb into a duct vent as Hunter helps the others climb up and reach it. Alex tries to help the hunter climb up, but it is too late. The hunter tells her she is just like her mother because she never knows when to quit. Alex notices the tattoo on her arm because it is the same one her mother has. Once the hunter drops to the ground, Jaime pulls Alex through the duct system. They argue about numerous things while the ducts begin filling with gas and Alex screams for them to move.

As Bobby continues, he soon finds himself stuck and unable to move. Their only choice is to rock the ducts back and forth until they crash to the ground. The ducts and women fall as the women get up and try to collect themselves. They look around and see several men tied to chairs. Their units have suctioning equipment attached to their genitals to collect their sperm. A group of women in black enter before Lane tells them to stand down and joins them. Doc Garvey (Rachel House) is with her. Lane tells Bobby the guys have been looking forward to a new friend. When Jaime asks if this is where the sperm comes from, Lane says no and begins explaining. Garvey pulls her to the side and asks why she is telling them. Lane mentions getting rid of all of them once this is over.

Bobby tells Pip they have to find a way to escape. Lane reveals they’re stockpiling sperm for when the pre-virus sperm runs dry. Doc admits this allows them to control the population and the world. Bobby asks about the building being a safe place, but Lane says male survivors love a good puzzle. Jackson (Yoson An) is brought into the room because he is the architect. He says hello to Jaime and Alex before making out with Lane. Then, Lane forces him to do the voice thing. He turns to the others and says, “Rise friend rise”. The episode ends shortly after Bobby tries to attack him.

Creamerie Review

Creamerie was obviously written with the intention of getting a second season although I am not sure it will. The Kiwi series could use a second season since it was just starting to dig deeper into the story. Nevertheless, I am sure many will be turned off by the humor which is silly at times and crude at other points. While rarely funny, the humor meshes well with the show’s absurd story and outlandish characters.

The show was oddly unique with the characters growing on me after six episodes. Still, it feels like it might’ve been a lost opportunity since I’d be surprised if the show is renewed. There were too many moments when the crudeness and silliness took precedence over the story. If the show had taken itself literally and delivered the story in a serious yet subtly humorous way, it likely would’ve been far more effective.

A confirmed renewal for season 2 of Creamerie would certainly make the first season seem remarkably better. Otherwise, watching the first six episodes will seem like a major disappointment since there was no attempt to cover any bases or close any doors in terms of the story. The finale was interesting and more revealing than the five before it. It scores a 6.5 out of 10. Creamerie recaps are available on Reel Mockery here.
