Australian audiences have been presented with some brilliant television series lately, including Wentworth, The Code and Anzac Girls. Their upcoming television series, Cleverman, is currently filming in Sydney and will star Frances O’Connor, who is likely best known for her performance in last year’s The Missing. The six-episode series will also feature Iain Glen (Game of Thrones, The Red Tent).
The series will also feature Jack Charles, Ryan Corr, Tasma Walton, Robyn Nevin and Stef Dawson. According to Wikipedia, the show definitely sounds like a science fiction drama and will feature otherworldly dreamtime creatures and will be set in a dystopian future, in which humans are battling for their survival against nonhumans. Sounds interesting enough, right?
Well, Australian fans aren’t the only ones that will be able to enjoy the series! Sundance TV has signed up to air the series, as well. The channel’s head of original programming, Joel Stillerman, insists Sundance is becoming the US home of the most intriguing shows from around the world. It is currently unknown whether or not the series will air simultaneously in the United States and Australia, but it is expected to premiere sometime in 2016.
