Party Like It’s 1999 – As the seventh episode of Class of ’07 begins, the women hold a fake funeral for Laura Cunningham (Rose Flanagan). Sandy (Sarah Krndija) interrupts and sarcastically says it is nice of them to mourn her. She immediately goes after Saskia (Caitlin Stasey) and knees her before turning her attention to Zoe (Emily Browning). Amelia (Megan Smart) takes up for Zoe until everyone learns that she helped Saskia push Sandy to sea. Sandy stabs her in the back. Then, she goes after Teresa (Sana’a Shaik). The other women jump on Sandy and try to keep her down. They have to run outside because the crops are on fire.

Sandy is tied to a chair. She admits she came back to starve them out. If they return her bag, she’ll leave and take Teresa with her. The women begin asking her questions because they want to know what is out there, but Sandy claims there is nothing left. Amelia refuses to help Zoe with the knife in her back and asks the others to do the same. Genevieve (Claire Lovering) tries to keep everyone calm since she believes things will regrow. Amelia thinks they’re done because they have little food and no one is coming to save them. Zoe argues that they can survive since they created electricity. Amelia says it doesn’t matter because there is no finish line and it’ll never end.

Zoe doesn’t think they should kill themselves just because Sandy claims there is nothing else out there. Amelia wants them to stop exhausting themselves with survival. When she says she is pitching a farewell party, Zoe is surprised she wants to be fun now. Teresa is in because everything she has been holding on for is now gone. Tegan (Bernie Van Tiel) and Genevieve agree to party as well. They begin planning the party. Zoe goes to Sister Bicky (Debra Lawrance) to see if she can put a stop to the party, but Bicky isn’t going to help her either. Sandy gets a hand free before telling Megan (Chi Nguyen) to get Teresa and her bag.

Megan wonders why she is so obsessed with Teresa. In a flashback, Zoe and Saskia belittle her before she departs. Teresa laughs while they do it. Zoe tries to get the knife out herself, but it is too painful. Laura returns with the last chicken. Amelia says they should cage it since she doesn’t want to kill it yet. Zoe tries to find out why Amelia is doing this and questions whether it is because she is off her meds. Amelia says this is all going to be over soon and she can’t wait. Zoe pleads with her not to give up on surviving, but Amelia isn’t going to listen to her. Zoe tries to ruin the party while the girls continue planning it. Sandy makes more problems for Megan.

Renee (Emma Horn) and the others are impressed with the venue. They credit Saskia who says it was all Genevieve. She gets upset with Saskia and tells her that the nice BS is so much worse. She’d rather be crapped on by her. Then, the girls learn that Zoe snapped all the CDs so they only have Christian rock left. Saskia encourages the girls to dance anyway. She tells Gene that she can’t change that she messed her up. Saskia urges her to enjoy herself. Zoe asks Amelia not to do this only to be told she isn’t invited to the party. Tegan finds Sandy abusing Megan so she tried to help. She apologizes to Megan before Sandy throws up and frees her.

Tegan encourages Megan to come and party, but Megan admits she likes being off the booze. Tegan agrees they should go sober. Zoe takes Sandy’s bag to her. She apologizes. Sandy says she should’ve seen it coming because the three of them never wanted her around. Teresa never led the charge, but she never stopped them from crapping on her either. Zoe realizes it is often what you didn’t say that gets you into trouble. She offers to get them food since the regrets deserve a last supper too. Zoe sets the chicken free and finds two eggs. When she goes back, she finds that Sandy is missing and she has been played. Sandy goes to the party and kidnaps Teresa.

Zoe finds Sandy trying to get Teresa on the raft. She attempts to talk her out of doing it. Teresa and Zoe learn that Sandy is pregnant after sleeping with a man on a canoe. Sandy admits she lied about there being no one else out there because it was the only way to convince Teresa to help raise her kid at sea. Zoe wants her to go in there and tell the others, but Sandy has other ideas. Zoe takes the knife out of her back and uses it to hold Teresa hostage. Once she goes inside, Zoe tries to tell the women what she just learned. However, they’re all drunk so they’re not going to listen. Sandy stalks Teresa while Amelia takes to the stage.

Zoe is restrained while Amelia talks about the six months they’ve had. The last chicken is brought on stage and given to Amelia while Zoe isn’t allowed to say anything. Zoe eventually breaks free and grabs the microphone so she can tell everyone about Sandy. Bicky says that is lovely, but they just killed the last chicken.

 

Class Of ’07 Review

This was a fun episode of Class of ’07 that did a great job of setting up the finale. The women have pretty much given up on surviving, but Zoe desperately searched for a way to change their minds. Sandy’s return helped create several interesting storylines as she told the others what happened and tried to escape with Teresa.

The girls now know they have a chance to survive since Sandy met others when she was floating on her raft. They’ll have to come to terms with that once they get sober after what they thought was their last party. They’ll also have to find a way to help Sandy give birth since she is pregnant.

Overall, this was one of the best episodes of Class of ’07. Hopefully, it ends on a high note with a solid finale. The episode scores a 6.5 out of 10.
