As the episode begins, Kevin (Jonathan Keltz) freaks out by the screams outside. In the morning, he asks Toof (Brock Morgan) whether he heard the screams. Toof admits he was out of it and did not. Ray (Bruce Ramsay) is shown completing a ritual of sorts. After the intro, Alan Clegg (Kevin Hanchard) disregards Cardinal’s theory. He doesn’t believe that someone could be moving in on Lasalle (Kris Holden-Ried). Lise Delorme (Karine Vanasse) tries to convince Clegg to let Rachel (Nicolette Pearse) off of the hook. Clegg doesn’t seem willing to do that. Lasalle speaks with his colleagues. He questions why Rachel has been around so often. Rachel receives a text message. Her biker boyfriend becomes jealous.

John (Billy Campbell) and Lise find a video of Red (Alex Paxton-Beesley) at a gas station. They believe that she is using a card to pay. The video is from the same day Commanda (Glen Gould) found her at the tavern. They visit the gas station and learn that she paid with cash. Cardinal suggests that it might have been air miles. Leon sits down with Ray. He is asked about Red. Leon lies again. Ray jams a knife through his hand. Leon eventually admits that Red has gotten away. Ray orders him to track her down and bring her back alive. Catherine prepares to leave on her trip. Thanks to the air miles, Cardinal manages to undercover Red’s identity, Terri Elizabeth Tait. She doesn’t have a criminal record. Red is shown her own social media page.

Nevertheless, she is unable to remember much. Red was given a week off to visit. She does remember a motel by the lake. Outside, Lise admits she doesn’t believe Red is being truthful with them. They visit a few motels, but find nothing of interest. Kevin takes some of the drugs. He and Toof are driven into town to sell the drugs. Leon is ordered to take care of his mission. Leon promises Kevin that he dropped Terri off at the station. Red manages to escape Fox (Eric Hicks) and flee the hospital. Cardinal and Lise speak with Lacey (Jessica Marie Brown). She learns that Red stole her hoodie. John also finds an unknown phone number. Commanda arrives moments later. John admits there is something that Red doesn’t want them to know. Meanwhile, Red visits the drug dealers and asks them about Kevin.

The guy calls Leon and lets him know that she has been around. Cardinal and the others desperately search for her. That night, John suggests looking through school records. Musgrave gets a message telling him to speak with Tammy Lidstrom about John. Meanwhile, Ray tells the boys about his time on the reserve. He encourages Kevin to tell them about his past. Leon arrives and does the same. Ray reads Kevin’s shells. He learns that Kevin wants to leave. He promises to buy Kevin a ticket, if he stays around until the end of the week. Kevin agrees. Catherine hangs out with her daughter. They speak about her new live in the big city. John and Lise visit the school. They manage to get Red’s records. They learn about her father, who was in the air force. They also discover that Kevin is her brother. They learn that Kevin has been arrested for petty drug offenses.

Musgrave meets with Tammy. She admits she has been arrested and wants to cut a deal. John and Lise have no luck finding Red. They speak with Clegg and learn about Gordie Katyuk, who has been known to hang out with Kevin. They visit Gordie’s house. They find blood on the floor. When they check the bathroom, they find Wombat’s head hanging in the shower. They believe that someone is sending a message to Lasalle or his dealers. Clegg speaks with Rachel. He learns that Lasalle is freaking out, because someone sent him a cut off hand of one of his dealers. Clegg allows Rachel to go free, thanks to Lise. John heads to the air force base. He finds Red inside. Meanwhile, Ray makes Kevin help him dispose of Wombat’s body. Kevin returns to the cabin and gets high on his own supply.

 

Cardinal Review

The second season of Cardinal has been excellent. I am not too thrilled with Ray being so powerful and somewhat unrealistic. Nevertheless, this season has been great. I was pretty positive that Kevin would be using his drugs before too long. Now, Ray has him locked in. He cannot escape. Red is slowly regaining her memories. This episode was very entertaining. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Sorry for any errors above. Work drug on too long and I had to rush this recap. The episode scores a solid 8 out of 10.
