As the episode begins, John Cardinal (Billy Campbell) and the others investigate the dead body. Lise Delorme (Karine Vanasse) notices the man’s tattoo. This leads them to believe that the victim might be their shooting suspect, Dave. McLeod gets in touch with Commanda (Glen Gould). He wants to know about the drawings on the wall in the cave. Commanda tells Cardinal and Delorme that they should get in touch with someone in Behavioral Sciences. As the detectives leave, Leon drives by. After the intro, Cardinal and Delorme get in touch with Chin (Patrick Kwok-Choon). He tells them about the bugs found on the body and suggests that the victim was likely killed twelve days ago. Leon returns home and speaks with Ray (Bruce Ramsay).

Leon tells Ray about the detectives and the body. He promises that the redhead has been taken care of. Leon asks Ray about the scars on Ray’s back. Ray admits he done them himself. Each hit made him more powerful. Cardinal visits the hospital and speaks with the doctor in charge of Red. He learns that her short-term memory is coming back slowly. He speaks with Red. She wants to know whether the killer will come after her again. Cardinal returns home. He asks Catherine, if she needs anything for her trip. She admits she is thinking about taking a break from therapy. Marci gets a visit from Wombat. He chokes her and wants to know where Dave is. He tells her to tell him that the Northern Raiders are looking for him.

Cardinal speaks with his team about the case. John visits the morgue and speaks with the medical examiner. Leon visits a guy downtown. He tells him to get in touch with him, if anyone asks about the redhead. Toof (Brock Morgan) finds Kevin (Jonathan Keltz) fixing a bike he found. He offers him pot, but Kevin refuses. Kevin admits he wants to get away after he gets paid. Ray interrupts and invites the boys inside for pizza. Cardinal gets in touch with Lise. He explains that the behavioral sciences guy believes they’re dealing with an Afro-Caribbean spiritual practice. Lise believes that Dave might have been laundering money for the biker gang. The detectives get in touch with Alan Clegg (Kevin Hanchard). He tells them about Wombat or Bryan Giblin.

He also gives them information about Lasalle (Kris Holden-Ried). Cardinal and Lise speak with Lasalle about Wombat (Jon Ambrose). He refuses to tell them anything. When they leave, Lasalle steps in the back and speaks with Wombat. He explains that they need a new cleaner. They agree that the Northern Raiders didn’t kill Dave. He tells Wombat to meet with Crowchild. Meanwhile, Kevin and the others take the boat out. Toof is told to keep watch. Kevin, Leon and Ray head inside of a cabin. They find Wombat, attack him and tie him up. Kevin gets a bag of money from the closet. He is worried about Wombat being a biker. Then, they get a visit from another gang. Ray speaks with Peter Crowchild. Peter gets the money. Ray and Leon get drugs.

Wombat is thrown into the boat and the boys leave. Kevin tells Toof that he is worried about the repercussions of ripping off bikers. Catherine tells John that she booked an appointment with Dr. Bell after she gets back. Lise seems distracted at the gym. Commanda tells her that they’ll get an airplane on the hunt for the boat. They watch as Rachel (Nicolette Pearse) hangs out with Jordan (Asivak Koostachin). That night, Ray tells the others about his plan. He intends to sell the drugs and use the money to expand. He makes it clear that they cannot use their own supply or he will kill them. Later, he tells Leon that he is worried about the bikers. Leon promises that everything will be fine. Red speaks with another patient at the hospital. Then, she begins remembering some of her memories.

John learns that Delorme isn’t going to NIS. She must have ticked someone off at the RCMP. The couple begin investigating rental houses in the area. Rachel interrupts her plans with Jordan after a phone call from her mother. Red remembers arguing with Kevin. She is interrupted by the other patient. She doesn’t say anything about her memories. Kevin calls and tries to apologize to someone, but they do not answer. After a little more digging, Lise and John visit Wombat’s cabin. They find the pool of blood. Two people run from the property. John manages to catch one guy. Lise gets the other one. It turns out to be Rachel. Both are questioned at the station.

Rachel requests to speak with Clegg. We learn that she has been an informant for him. She tells them that they were supposed to check on Wombat. Lasalle doesn’t believe he has been ripped off by Wombat. He has been freaking out. Lise drives Rachel home. She offers to get her a lawyer and help. Rachel doesn’t believe that Lise can help her. Cardinal texts his wife that he is still at work. Then, he enters a house with another woman. Kevin watches as Ray enters the shack with Wombat. He hears screams moments later.

 

Cardinal Review

This season of Cardinal has been very good so far. Each episode slowly unravels the mystery of Red, while also telling us more about the potential suspects. Red is finally beginning to remember. It seems that she was in a relationship with Kevin. However, I am pretty convinced that Kevin wasn’t involved in her shooting. So, what happened? At this point, Leon and Ray seem to be the most likely suspects.
