BBC’s Drama SAS Rogue Heroes Has Been Renewed For Season 2

The critically-acclaimed hit, SAS Rogue Heroes, will be back for another season. The announcement was made at the end of season one with the end caption “To Be Continued” letting viewers know the story would resume. As the season closed, the unhinged Paddy Mayne (Jack O’Connell) had taken over the Rogue Heroes with David Stirling (Connor Swindells) being captured by enemy forces.

Filming for the second season of SAS Rogue Heroes will begin in 2023. The series is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Ben Macintyre. The renewal comes after SAS Rogue Heroes proved to be a ratings powerhouse with episode one attracting 9.4 million viewers. The series is the third biggest drama launch of the year for BBC so far.

Reel Mockery has all recaps for the first season of SAS Rogue Heroes here. Additional details about the second season are available on BBC’s website.

I love ROGUE HEROS, so what about soundtrack..other war movies use “not of the era” music. I personally think character development did well in 6 short episodes. Hence the title ROGUE HEROs…it isn’t going to be a “FINDING PRIVATE RYAN”…

I am really excited for Season 2, Paddy is by far my favorite character, however, the primary cast are fantastic! 9/10 rating in my book!!!

I liked Sadler the most initially, but his character was kinda put on the backburner after it was introduced. Thought Lewes was good too but we know how that went. That is the interesting thing about television, movies, or any other types of art though. Every viewer is going to see things differently and that is why no two people will agree on everything. I enjoyed what they did, but I also would’ve liked a deeper story with more historical significance.

I’ll watch another season though and actually look forward to it. Can only get better from here now that the foundation has been established.
