At the start of the episode, Leah (Katherine Kelly) is shown digging something up. Then, Leah and Rose (Molly Windsor) speak at the prison. Leah asks why Rose is lying. Rose says why would she lie. After the intro, Adam (Tom Goodman-Hill) runs into Rose at the university. Adam asks if there is some way she can help but Rose is only waiting for a mate. Rose asks if they can talk for a few minutes. He says yes and they go to his office. Rose checks out a picture of Leah and Adam at The York. Then, she tells Adam that he isn’t boring like she thought he would be. When Rose leaves, she grabs a yellow rose.

Leah finds that rose and a note on her desk seconds later. The letter tells Leah that someone is so sorry for her loss. Leah heads to the dorms and runs into Ben (Burn Gorman). She continues on and manages to sneak into Rose’s room. She finds a pink collar and leash. She checks the computer and finds that Rose has been researching her. before nearly getting caught by Ben. When Ben leaves, Leah makes her escape but it is captured by a security camera. Back at home, Leah tells Adam what she did. He is worried that she might’ve got caught. He also tells her that Betsy’s name was right there in front of Rose. That is how she figured out the cat’s name.

When Rose returns home, she finds a yellow rose petal in her room. She looks through her belongings and finds a picture of Leah with her father. The following day, Rose tells Ben that someone has been in her room. Rose asks Ben to get the security footage for her. After a little back and forth, he agrees to look into it. During this time, Leah hangs out with Amy (Lara Rossi). Amy asks if there is any truth that Leah might be avoiding issues with Adam. Leah denies it. Ben delivers pictures of Leah breaking into her room to Rose. When Leah is in the shower, her engagement ring goes missing. She tells Amy about the missing ring and they look for it together. Later, Leah checks in her pocket and finds a yellow rose petal.

Rose goes to dinner with her father. He calls her a spiteful little girl after Rose asks about aunt Pam. He tells her that she is on her own this time. Adam finishes with class and Rose enters to tell him about the ring. Adam isn’t willing to believe Leah’s story. Leah learns about Rose mentioning The York so she looks through her photos. In one of those photos, she sees Rose in the background. That night, they go out with Stephan (Parker Sawyers) and Amy. They tell the couple about Rose’s behavior and everything that has been going on. They’re surprised when Rose shows up. She explains that she works there because her father wanted her to have some responsibility.

When they sit down for dinner, Adam watches Rose speak with Ben. Then, Rose comes over and pours them more champagne. Leah believes that Rose is wearing her engagement ring so she goes after her. Rose doesn’t want them to look at the ring so Leah pulls it off of her hand. However, it is not Leah’s engagement ring. Once Adam and Leah return home, they get into an argument. Leah tells Adam that Rose scares her. In the morning, Adam calls Sandra and asks for Rose’s contact email. They meet up seconds later and Rose implies that Leah might’ve lost the ring on purpose. Adam apologizes on behalf of his girlfriend for the chaos. Rose says that they should meet up that night and Leah should come.

She shows him an advertisement for an open mic night at The Crooked Billet. Leah goes to her doctor and tells him about her troubles. Rose goes home and pulls Leah’s engagement ring out of her locked box. That night, Adam tries to get in touch with Leah but she doesn’t answer. He decides to throw caution to the wind and meet up with Rose. They share a few drinks while Leah works on a paper. Meanwhile, Rose tells Adam that her mother killed herself when she was six years old. When the night is finished, Adam offers to get Leah to call off Rose’s review tomorrow. Adam gives her money for a cab and thanks her for the fun evening.

Adam invites Rose back to his place but she turns him down. Later, Leah gets Adam’s messages but doesn’t contact him back. Adam gets a message from Rose who admits she wishes she’d gone to his place. Things go back and forth before Rose asks for nude pictures and she is willing to go first. They exchange dirty pictures before Rose stops messaging Adam back. In the morning Leah waits for Rose to show up for the review. Rose appears outside and Leah gets a message. She tells Leah she has something she needs to see before Leah receives the picture of Adam’s privates.

 

Cheat Review

I have enjoyed both episodes of Cheat. Again, it has some flaws here and there. Things are a bit long-winded from time to time. Also, I wish they would have been more mysterious. They’ve done many things to point the blame on Rose. In the beginning, it felt like both women could be responsible for the trouble. Now, we know Rose is deeply involved in the game and this makes the show a bit cliché. Nevertheless, I’ve enjoyed it.

This episode was pretty good and I am eager to watch the next one. I can’t wait to see how far things are going to go and what is going to happen to Adam. The episode scores a 7.5 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of Cheat before you leave!
