Catch Of The Day – The episode begins with a flashback of Pippa Walsh (Jodie Tyack) auditioning for Velorum Cruises. Someone calling for dad can be heard in the background. She suggests leaving him alone because he’s “sh**faced.”
Jamie Walsh (Oscar Kennedy) warns her that he’s sending it. She describes it as “stupid” before questioning what if it isn’t her scene. He accuses her of being concerned about leaving him. She admits to not wanting to leave him alone. He reminds her that their father will be there. She asks when has their father ever been around. He suggests joining Velorum Cruises, it could be her opportunity to get out. She tells him that she’ll not send it. While closing the laptop, he informs her that it has been sent. She laughs.
Lauren Thompson (Amber Grappy) is cleaning up when she spots a condom in the pool. Officer T. Beaker (Warren James Dunning) suddenly appears to ask what is taking so long while she nets out the condom. She asks for some help. He tells her that she’s a “big girl” so get at it before spitting in the pool. After he makes his exit, she gets back to work trying to retrieve the condom. When Danny’s body falls into the fall, she falls in as well. She exits the pool screaming.
Cormac Kelly (Peter Claffey) wakes Jamie up while working out. Jamie asks if he’s trying to draw attention to himself. After reminding him of his getting “ratarsed,” Cormac asks if he was trying to find Pippa. When he hands over his meal plan, Jamie asks if it’s a joke. Cormac assures him that he’d never joke about food prep. Vivian Lim (Thaddea Graham) stops by to say Danny Jones (Jack Rowan) was obsessed with Pippa and inconsolable when she jumped overboard. Cormac describes it as a “crime of passion.” Jamie reminds her of what he said about Pippa not jumping. She asks if the phone was charged. He tells her that the phone can be utilized to confront Danny even if it’s locked. She says they’re on breakfast duty at 5am. Cormac says to keep a lookout for Rosie. Vivian asks if she’s the ex that he’s stalking. He tells her that he’s only making Jamie monitor Rosie.
As Jerome Dupont (Diego Andres) reaches for a half-eaten sandwich from the waste bin, Vivian asks if he’s still drunk. He questions if someone will get him an Uber before biting into the sandwich.
Vivian and Jamie question Olly Reyes (Anthony Rickman) about being affiliated with the mafia. He claims it is by default only. Jamie asks what the mafia does. Olly says they do target assassinations and bookkeeping before comparing the mafia to the union. Beaker intentionally bumps into Olly. When Vivian tells him to watch it, Beaker gets in her personal space. Officer Karen Macintyre (Harriet Webb) orders him to notify the entertainers that they are to go to the theater. Officer Sam Rhodes (Louis Boyer) tells Jamie to get Jerome sober. Jamie whispers to Vivian that Danny will be in the theater with the other entertainers.
While spying on the entertainers, Vivian asks Jamie if he likes Olly. He tells her that he doesn’t know him. She says they have several months to fix it. He assures her that he won’t be there that long. She asks if he’s out at home. He admits to telling Pippa before saying he was seeing a guy. She asks what he’ll do to Danny if he harmed Pippa when Karen addresses the entertainers. Karen informs them that Danny is believed to have committed suicide. Henry Allan (Donald Sage Mackay) suggests Danny was paralyzed when he jumped from an upper funnel. Vivian tells Jamie that he didn’t look that drunk last night.
Vivian reminds Jamie that Danny was utilizing drugs. Jamie says he was his main suspect. Vivian fails to complete a customer’s drink with smoke. The customer asks if there is a problem. Vivian tells her that it’s minimum wage. The customer suggests she should have tried harder in school. Lily (Ramanique Ahluwalia) asks if she needs some ice for the burn. Vivian smirks at her when Jamie joyfully says he unlocked the cellphone. She asks what was the password. He informs her that it was their mum’s birthday. Vivian says the “fascists” refused to give Lauren the morning off after she discovered Danny’s body. He shows her a text on Pippa’s phone that reads, “I’m leaving. I want $$. Silence costs.”
She suggests it was extortion. A photo of a penis and a tiny fish tattoo is on her phone. He assures her that Pippa was involved in something dangerous. She says it’s proof that she was blackmailing someone.
Bethany-May Denbrough (Ali Hardiman) admits to having trouble believing Danny’s gone. Hamish Campbell (James Phoon) asks if Danny and Pippa’s death is their fault before asking if they need protection. Sophia Leigh (Alice Nokes) sarcastically asks if they are five years old. He admits being afraid because it’s over their heads. Frantic, Bethany-May says she should’ve left yesterday. Hamish tells her that they didn’t join Velorum to peddle drugs. Sophia tells Amy #1 (Melissa Dilber) and Amy #2 (Merih Dilber) to get candles for Danny’s vigil. She tells Hamish to get some balls.
Jamie and Vivian head to the morgue to see if the penis belongs to Danny. Vivian asks if he has any tattoos. He admits to being afraid of needles.
Karen orders Dolce Rodriguez (Georgia Goodman) to clean the ball pool.
Jamie and Vivian determine Danny doesn’t have a tattoo. They are shocked to discover two stab wounds on his chest. Jamie accuses Velorum of lying. They find themselves face-to-face with Karen after leaving the morgue. Jamie claims they saw the nurse. Vivian tells her that Jamie has the Barry Whites. He says she thought he ate something strange. Karen reminds him that the nurse is male. Vivian says he refers to everyone as a “she” because the nurse is a homosexual. Jamie yells, “Hey girl” to someone walking down the hall before saying it’s his culture. Karen orders them to “fu** off.”
Sophia informs Sam that the entertainers want out. He tells her that Danny had problems because he used drugs. She says they feel unsafe. He assures her that he’ll protect her. She suggests the mafias are angry at them for selling drugs. He warns her that the officers won’t be happy. She invites him to join her later for some yoga.
Vivian informs Cormac that Danny had been stabbed. Jamie asks why would Velorum lie about Danny committing suicide. She suggests a killer is on the ship. Cormac recommends talking to Filipino tattoo artists below the show but not without a personal invite. Jamie suggests Olly take them. As they slip out the door, Cormac asks Vivian if she knows there is zero chance Pippa’s alive.
Lauren calls Daronte when Sophia enters the restroom. The lights go out while she sits on the toilet. Someone bangs on the door as she screams for help. The lights come on as the culprit exits the restroom. Heading out the door, she turns around to see a photo of herself with her eyes crossed out. She rips it down before heading toward the door.
After gulping down Bethany-May’s drink, Sophia tells them that Sam agreed to speak to the officers about them wanting out. Bethany-May asks what it means. Sophia says, “It means what it means” before asking what she’s doing. Bethany-May says she’s making a collage for Danny. Sophia reminds her that Danny’s dead.
Olly takes Vivian and Jamie to meet The Baby (Francis Flores). When says thanks, Olly warns him to not mess with the Filipinos. The Baby admits to doing the fish tattoo. Jamie asks if he remembers the client before giving him a gift. After declaring two of the tapes acceptable, The Baby asks if he doesn’t like his work. Vivian orders him to take a seat. Jamie begins to hallucinate when he sees the tattoo needle. He comes through to see a Pippa tattoo on his shoulder. The Baby identifies the guy with the fish tattoo as an officer.
Olly asks who is Pippa. Jamie claims she’s his girlfriend before apologizing for the bad joke. Olly informs him that The Baby utilizes unsterile needles before giving him a kiss.
Cormac hears Rosie’s voice in the hallway. He opens the door to see her walking down the hall with Jerome. Jerome offers to be her Sonny. She tells him that she has gone through a recent breakup. He asks if she believes in life after love. After describing love as “hell,” she says life is never the same after being there. Cormac bumps into Beaker as he turns to go back to his cabin. Beaker invites him to play five-a-side B-ball on Wednesday. When Cormac accepts the offer, Beaker says to make sure you do.
Jamie tells her that he didn’t think the officers were Pippa’s type. She warns him that the officers control everything. He admits to feeling like it’s his fault because Pippa got cold feet. She tells him to not think like that. He says Pippa always got the brunt of his anger. She suggests they contact the police. He says they should do it anonymously.
Lauren and Jerome attend Danny’s vigil. Amy tells the other Amy that a smile can hide the saddest part. Sophia informs Beaker that she received a warning. He says it’s her problem, Barbie. She informs him that she quit. He warns her that Velorum will toss her out with only the clothes on her back even if she’s sleeping with Sam. He sarcastically says Danny always knew how to make a splash before walking away.
Bethany-May sings Danny’s favorite song. When Sophia leaves, Jamie and another person follow her to the theater. As she demands he to identify himself, something falls from the ceiling. She looks around to see someone in a hoodie. The individual approaches with a knife drawn. After dislodging the knife, Jamie chases the individual up the stairs. He walks in on two guys making out. Escaping to freedom, the individual removes his mask to identify himself as Olly as the episode comes to an end.
Wreck Review
Pippa had reservations about leaving Jamie to work for Velorum. Jamie assured her that he’ll be okay before sending in her audition video.
Lauren was cleaning the pool when Danny’s body fell into the water. She tried to call someone named Daronte to no avail. She continued to fulfill her duty as if nothing happened.
Karen and Allan told the entertainers that Danny committed suicide. They informed Sophia that they’ll no longer sell drugs. After relaying their decision to Sam, she is threatened in the restroom. Someone left her photo with the eyes crossed out hanging on the mirror. Beaker issued her yet another warning at Danny’s vigil. Jamie stepped in to save her from an assailant with a knife. Little did he know, the someone was Olly.
Jamie cracked Pippa’s cellphone password. He found a penis pic with a tiny fish tattoo. He asked Olly to get him a pass to see The Baby. Jamie traded two videos for a Pippa tattoo and information about the photo. The Baby told him that he tattooed the fish on an officer.
Jamie and Vivian assess Danny’s body to discover he doesn’t have a fish tattoo. They also discover he was stabbed multiple times in chest.
