The episode opens in the woods where a hiker’s (Nuria Riera Carreras) dog discovers a shallow grave. Seeing a hand, she flees the scene.

Harper Carter (Indica Watson) takes a dip in the pool while Erin Carter (Evin Ahmad) calls Emilio Martin (Pep Ambros) to confirm the photo was sent out. He informs her of the body found near Espinalbas. He says with no evidence or ID, forensics will not uncover much. Checking the database, he says Benecio Agustin (Rodrigo Poison) sent her photo to Valeria. She voices concern about them coming for her and her family. He reminds her that Margot Muller (Ana Ularu) was Agustin’s personal assistant. He suggests no one will find her through a press photo. After the call ends, Erin asks Penelope Reyna (Charlotte Vega) to keep an eye on Harper before leaving.

Erin is on her way to visit Valeria Estrada (Blanca Pares), an Agustin & Andor paralegal, when she receives a call from Daniel Lang (Douglas Henshall), Dylan Lang’s (Finnian Burke) father. Lang invites her and Jordi Collantes (Sean Teale) to dinner to discuss Dylan. Erin forces her way into Valeria’s apartment to be threatened with a knife. She orders Valeria to delete the photo before snatching the knife out of her hand. Erin says Agustin has her confused with someone else. Valeria informs her of Agustin being killed last night because he is involved in organized crime. They hear a knock at the door before two goons (Daniel Knovacs, Roger Moreno) break in demanding to know what she did with it. A scuffle ensues when Valeria’s bag opens, spewing money everywhere. Valeria and Erin take the elevator and flee to their vehicle. As they drive away, the rear window is shot out.

Valeria tells Erin that the organized crime syndicate searched Agustin’s accounts this morning to find money missing. She admits to stealing small amounts of money when it was laundered. She blames Erin for what happened to her money. Erin assures her that she was just trying to save her life. Valeria threatens to share Erin’s photo with Agustin’s contacts if she does not replace her money before exiting the vehicle.

Gei Perez (Amin Hamada) tells Emilio that his tip provided them with the names and schedules of gang members. He gives Emilio a USB dongle when Sonia hangs a document with Margot’s information on the evidence board.

Lena Campbell (Denise Gough) is housecleaning when she receives a call alerting her of Margot’s death. A quick Internet search confirms the claim. A woman orders her off the computer when a scuffle ensues.

Harper overhears Penelope arguing with someone on the phone. When Penelope sees her, she orders her to sit while she brushes her hair. She says Antonio Reyna (Max Ferret O’Dwyer) was small but he will grow up to be like his father. Harper apologizes for hitting Antonio. Penelope asks about her poor eyesight. Harper demonstrates what it is like to see through her eyes. Penelope asks if her mother or father had bad eyesight. Harper admits to being unsure because Erin does not like to talk about it. Penelope urges her to not stop asking questions.

Harper tells Erin that Penelope did her hair. Erin hesitantly says it is “great.” Harper accuses her of hating it before saying at least Penelope spent time with her. Jordi assures Erin that Harper knows she did not want to leave her at the pool. Erin admits to wanting life to return to what it was before the supermarket robbery.

Emilio is at a red light when a motorcycle pulls up behind him. An assailant busts out his passenger-side window before tossing in a firework. He jumps out of the vehicle as the motorcycle flees the scene. He listens to a voicemail from a man who warns him to stop investigating gangs.

Checking her account balance, Erin curses.

Harper tells Olivia Thorne (Susannah Fielding) that Penelope and her husband were arguing over the phone. When Olivia activates the blender, the power goes out. While she leaves to flip the breaker, Harper imagines seeing something frightening.

Daniel informs Jordi and Erin that Dylan has been removed from three schools. He explains how he would like to remove Dylan from the school system before asking Erin to be his private tutor. He offers to match her school salary. She asks if it would be possible to get some money upfront. She warns that removing Dylan from school would be a win for him before declining his offer.

Olivia suggests Harper see a counselor. Jordi leaves to sit with Harper. Olivia claims Harper told her that Erin had a gun. Erin assures her that Harper is confused. After Olivia leaves, Erin tells Jordi that they will take Harper to a counselor. He asks if they can do it tomorrow. She suggests delaying for a week. When he leaves, she removes the monster sketches from Harper’s notebook. Harper opens her eyes to see a monster. Later, she receives a photo with a threat from Valeria. The next day, she pawns a necklace from her mother.

Harper shows Lucia (Alexia Hortal) one of her sketches. Lucia asks if the robbers wore masks. Harper denies her sketches are the robbers. Lucia explains how the brain processes bad experiences. Harper assures her that she is no longer afraid. Jordi listens to their conversation whilelaundry. She admits to feeling bad for them because they are dead when Erin arrives and demands to know what they are doing. Lucia says Jordi asked her to see Harper. Erin accuses him of going behind her back. An argument ensues when Harper leaves. Outside, Harper accuses Erin of taking her sketches before asking why there are no photos of her as a baby. Erin confesses to leaving her with someone else when she was a baby. Harper blames her for being a “freak.” Erin assures her that she is not a freak. Harper reminds her that she killed someone.

Emilio asks Erin if she knows Margot. Erin denies knowing her. Jordi and Erin team up against Penelope and Bruno (Jake Fairbrother). During a break, Jordi says he refuses to apologize about Lucia. Erin tells him that she is the problem, not Harper. He says Harper wants to show her “wonderful, warm” mother to other people. Valeria tries to call Erin while she plays tennis. After losing to Penelope, Erin tells Jordi and Harper that she has a yoga class. Jordi watches as she calls Valeria to convince her to not send the photo because she is on her way. In a flashback, Emilio gives Jordi a copy of Erin’s record. Jordi claims to trust Erin. Emilio suggests keeping it.

Erin does not answer Jordi’s call. Harper complains about not knowing anything about Erin’s family. He points out that Erin was young when her mother died. She tells him about living with a woman when she was young. Later, he looks at the documents Emilio gave him to discover there is no record on file for Erin.

An armed Erin walks to the hotel to meet Valeria. She gives Margo 3,000 before deleting the photos. Valeria admits to alerting the organized crime syndicate of her impending visit. Erin looks out the window to see them pull up. She stuns two men as they enter the room before they enter the hallway. They only get a short distance when a man shoots Valeria in the back. A shootout ensues and ends with Erin sparking a fire, sending her car into an inferno of flames. She flees by jumping over an overpass onto a truck loaded with cargo. When the truck veers to miss a vehicle, she is sent rolling into the brush. She looks up to see a monster before collapsing. The episode ends.

 

Who Is Erin Carter Review

Margot’s body is discovered by a hiker and her dog. When Emilio asks Erin about Margot, she denies knowing her. He tells her that Agustin, a member of an organized crime syndicate, sent her press photo to his contacts. Margot was Agustin’s personal assistant. Agustin has been money laundering through his law firm. Erin reaches out to Agustin’s paralegal, Valeria who is preparing to run after Agustin was killed. The crime syndicate discovers Valeria has been skimming money from their money-laundering scheme. Erin helps her flee but she loses all the stolen money which Valeria demands she replace or her photo will go to Agustin’s contacts. Erin pawns a necklace from her mother for 3,000, not nearly enough. When Erin is late for their appointment, Valeria alerts Agustin’s contacts.

Valeria is killed while Erin is injured and ends up on the shoulder of a highway. Becoming suspicious of Erin’s behavior, Jordi decides to look at a record that Emilio ran earlier. There is no record of Erin on file.
