As this episode of Who Is Erin Carter begins, Erin (Evin Ahmad) wakes up in Tarragona Hospital on Monday. Erin insists she needs to get to her husband and daughter. When she checks her phone, she finds out that the battery is dead. The nurse explains that Erin was brought in last night after a driver found her injured on the side of the road. Erin asks for a phone charger. Jordi Collantes (Sean Teale) wakes up and tries to get in touch with Erin. He tells Harper (Indica Watson) that Erin had to leave early for a training course.

Harper doesn’t believe him and gets upset. When he dropped her off at school, Harper remains standoffish. Jordi asks Emilio Martin (Pep Ambros) about Erin since she didn’t come home. Emilio insists there will be a reason before stepping away to take a call from work. He takes the call from Erin who says she was in an accident in Tarragona. Erin goes on to say that things with Valeria got complicated. Emilio asks if the shooting at the hospital was Erin, but she claims she was trying to protect her. Erin sees an officer outside when she opens her door so she tells Emilio she’ll have to call him back. The police learn she left so they begin looking for her.

Erin gets into an elevator with a cop so she has to pretend to help with a patient. She sneaks away and calls Jordi. Erin promises to explain when she gets home. She tries to tell him what is going on but can’t when the call is dropped. When a cop sees her, Erin flees again. Olivia Thorne (Susannah Fielding) goes to the police station where she tells Emilio that the victim was at the school musical. She also noticed that Erin left shortly after it started and didn’t come back. Olivia claims he left and didn’t come back either, but Emilio says he came back and picked a different seat. Emilio receives a call from Erin who is driving a police car.

As soon as he ends the call, Olivia asks him about Erin since they’re neighbors. Emilio says he hasn’t spoken to her before going on his way. He calls Erin back to warn her that they’re closing in on her. Erin hangs up when she sees a cop car just before a pursuit begins. When the other vehicle crashes, Erin gets away. Emilio catches up with her moments later and brings her clothes. At HMP Falstead Prison in England, Tobias (Robert Gilbert) complains that Lena (Denise Gough) assaulted the homeowner after he put his neck on the line to get her the work placement. They’re canceling her work release and may be moving her to a higher-security prison.

Lena uses a computer to research the Margot Muller armed robbery in Barcelona. She learns that Margot Muller was found dead in Robles Forest. Lena finds a picture of Erin. Emilio tells Erin that she shouldn’t go home and tell Jordi the truth because she’ll lose him. She suggests she is tired of lying before leaving. Once she goes home, she does what Emilio recommended and tells Jordi that she has a drinking problem. Erin claims it has always been there, but it got worse after the supermarket incident. Erin says she needs his help. She goes upstairs where Harper reminds her that she missed her doctor’s appointment. Erin apologizes and says she was at a training course.

Harper says Jordi told Olivia that she was sick. She thought Erin was never going to come back. Erin promises that she would never do that. Erin notices that she is drawing a picture with “Aunt Lena” on it. Erin claims she passed away. The following day, Emilio watches as police raid a warehouse and find drugs. Inspector Tabarez asks Emilio who his informant is. Emilio won’t say because he promised he wouldn’t. Erin attends a meeting about alcohol abuse. The group leader believes what she said was bull crap. She suggests Erin is wasting her time if this is the best she can do. The leader asks Erin to tell her something real in a minute although she suspects she can’t.

Erin says she is worried that Jordi will stop loving her if he finds out who she really is. The leader doesn’t know why she’d want to be with him if he can’t love her for who she really is. Later, Erin catches up with Emilio who tells her about the drug bust. He believes he is close to bringing down one of the biggest organized crime rings using info he got using the sniffer at Agustin’s villa. Erin quickly tells him why that is a bad idea. Emilio understands the risk. He says they’re there so they can get their stories straight. At home, Harper tells Erin that Antonio asked her to prom. Harper shows Erin a picture of the monster she drew and asks her what she thinks about it.

Seconds later, they tell Jordi about Harper’s prom invite. Once Harper leaves, Erin tells Jordi they could go to dinner tomorrow to talk about her meeting. The next day, Erin tries to help Dylan Lang (Finnian Burke) who says he can’t do it. Erin insists he can because all of the answers on the page. He doesn’t think he needs to know this stuff because his dad is rich. Daniel Lang (Douglas Henshall) pulls Erin aside to ask her how his son is doing. Erin thinks he is getting there. Daniel reveals he put a word in for her at St. Joseph’s.

The boss tells Emilio that he is far from discovering who’s in charge of the gangs. Although it is interesting, he won’t be able to authorize anything without clear evidence. Emilio is ordered to focus on Margot Muller. He returns to his desk and looks at the record of Lena and Kate Jones. Later, Emilio hangs out with Ana Martin (Nuri Deulofeu), Jordi, Harper, and Erin. In private, Emilio tells Erin she’ll have to help him if she wants to keep hiding secrets from Jordi. There are millions being laundered at the bullring and he’ll be meeting an informer who is willing to talk. When Erin tells him to give up, Emilio calls her Kate.

He goes on to say he knows about Margot Muller and Lena Campbell. Emilio just needs Erin to watch his back one night. Erin believes he has empty threats because he buried Margot with her and ran over Agustin. She suspects Tabarez has a reason for shutting him down. At home, Erin helps Harper get ready for prom. Harper asks if Erin is her mother. She knows about Emilio calling her Kate earlier and everyone used to call her that. Erin insists she didn’t have a choice. She asks Harper if she remembers her life before and says she couldn’t just leave her. Harper suspects she died. She reminds Erin that she told her she was her real mom.

Erin claims she was just telling her stories to try to make it easier for her. They talk about Erin’s love for Harper. Erin says she’d do anything for her. Harper tells her that she needs to tell dad. While Harper goes to the prom, Erin and Jordi go out. As they sit down, Erin shows him that she brought a timer so they can decide who asks questions and who answers. Jordi starts by asking the one thing she doesn’t want to tell him. Erin confesses that she isn’t Harper’s mom. She claims Lena died and there was no one to take care of Harper. Although it isn’t legal, Erin would do it again. She would just tell him sooner. Jordi is upset because someone could take Harper and they couldn’t do anything about it.

Lena looks at the picture hidden under her bunk and takes a paperclip before she is transported in a van. Lena manages to escape and steal a phone. Erin and Jordi talk about the first time they came to the bar. They step outside and dance with the others. Jordi ends up walking away from her because he can’t do this anymore. Erin promises to never lie to him again. Jordi isn’t willing to accept that because everything they have is a lie. As Erin walks away, she calls Emilio to tell him that Jordi might leave her. She learns that he went to the bullring alone.

She listens as Emilio meets with his informer who begins attacking him. The attacker follows him into the bullring and stabs him. A car pulls up. Daniel gets out and tells Emilio that he needs to learn how to take a hint. He calls Emilio selfish for costing them a lot of money. Erin approaches the bullring. Emilio is asked about the woman he has been working with, but he doesn’t want to tell Daniel. Erin makes it just as Daniel begins stabbing Emilio who yells for her to run. Daniel walks into her and lets her leave.

Who Is Erin Carter Review

This episode of Erin Carter was pretty straightforward without any real twists. The story is clearly getting ridiculous so that is something viewers will have to accept if they’re going to have any chance of liking the series. It isn’t easy to care about the characters, but the story is at least interesting enough to make me want to see what happens in the end.

Truthfully, this is just a typical Netflix drama with some silly scenes, barely likable characters, and an over-the-top story. Some of the performances are decent though and there is enough intrigue to push viewers to finish the series. With low expectations, viewers may find Who Is Erin Carter to be a pleasant time killer but little else.

The episode scores a 5.5 out of 10. Recaps of Who Is Erin Carter can be found on Reel Mockery here. Find out how to support our independent site at this link. Learn more about advertising on Reel Mockery here.
