At the start of the episode, Vincent Swan (Ed Westwick) meets with Ronnie (Lee Ross). Ronnie threatens to ship him to another country in a shipping container. Vincent is also forced to take on Ronnie Jr. (Theo Barklem-Biggs) at the window store. It is clear that Ronnie Jr. is going to create trouble for Vincent and the boys. Next, Vincent attends the annual BBQ held by Andrew Davies (Jack Doolan). Everyone gets together to play table tennis. In the end, it is Vincent and an older guy against Andrew and Sam.
Vincent lets them win and scores big points with his wife. She learns about his problems with Tony and Joanne (Rachel Shenton). Martin (Joe Thomas) is sent out to spy on Joanne. The revelation repulses Sam. She calls Vincent a sexist and refuses to sleep with him. Next, Brian and Martin are introduced to Ronnie Jr. Ronnie Jr believes he’ll be fine. After all, he is in the top five players worldwide at Stratego. The others are not impressed. Brian nearly sells windows to a new client. Junior’s awkward behavior ruins their chances. He plays Stratego at the office and sends clients home without answering their questions. Martin tries to sort things out.
Next, he tells Brian and Vincent about his progress with Joanne. The boys learn that Donna (Jennifer Brooke) has become a big star. Ronnie Jr. is scolded for scumming up the toilet. The guys decide to hire Donna to sign autographs at the shop. That could attract big attention. Brian discusses it with Brendan. He is given a higher fee because Brendan no longer likes them. Brian agree to the offer anyway. Ronnie Jr. is put in charge of getting the fliers printed. Instead, he destroys them with spunk. He tries to fix them, but only makes matter worse.
Martin tries to get secrets from Joanne. They both share something that is personal and sexual. The guys learn about the fliers. The name of the business is called Catch It instead of Cachet. It has the wrong telephone number as well. Ronnie Jr. is sent to train with Andrew. The deal with Donna falls through and the guys still own her 1000 pounds. Ronnie Jr. manages to book snooker champion Steve Davis for the event instead. Unfortunately, Steve Davis (Jack Shalloo) is really dull. He cannot do any trick shots since there is no table. Tony has booked Donna instead. Everyone leaves Cachet windows to see Donna.
Sam laughs at them. Vincent and the others confront Joanne and Tony. Martin learns that Joanne knew the truth all along. Ronnie enters and asks Vincent about Steve Davis. Ronnie says that Steve and his manager believe they’re going to get a free conservatory each. He is not happy with Vincent.
White Gold Review
I like White Gold. Despite the past and all of the flaws, the series is still pretty humorous. I get a few laughs out of every scene it seems. I really liked the addition of Ronnie Jr. He was probably the only one more unstable than Vincent and the boys. I will certainly keep watching and finish the new season. The episode scores a 7 out of 10. Catch up with past recaps of White Gold before you leave!
