Wentworth Review
This episode of Wentworth was okay. The best storylines are those with the guards. The prisoners have been watered down to the point that they’re nearly irrelevant. Ruby’s survival wouldn’t have made a difference in the least. It was also stupid how Rita was contacting her in the spirit world or whatever that nonsense was. It is easy to see where things are going though. Rita will be top dog before the season ends. That is obvious.
I like how Jake got in and out of the prison so easily, yet Vera and Rita got caught at the very end. The show isn’t the worst in the world, but the writing has become very bad. I feel like I have to throw reality out the window to follow the story. That is disappointing. The episode scores a 6.5 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of Wentworth before you go.
Jay Skelton is a fan of all television shows and movies. He tries his best to keep up with the latest foreign television shows and movies. Jay loves skinny dipping in the dark too.
I found the moments between Rita and Vera to be quite touching, i’m glad Vera broke the rules, just knowing how much a dickhead Will has been this season.
it wasn’t a bad episode but i think you can tell Marie’s fall from grace is happening.
Agree about Will. That character hasn’t been good in a very long time. Feel the same about Marie too. She is either going to get outed this season or next most likely.
Will is one of the best characters but this Marie storyline doesnt do him any favors, its so forced and ridiculous, hope it ends soon so we can get the old Will we all know and love back, he is really out of character.
Hope Marie dies as well, this season is really bad, I am disappointed.
Last season was painful for Will too. Just running around crying all the time. I would say Marie is on her way out soon enough. Either at the end of this season or sometime next season.
The funny thing is, I know someone who works on the series, and they’re currently writing for S8, but he believes and told me that this season is his favourite because they really did think it was ending and he believed the cast and writers put everything into this season, and of course they have, some of the cast have outgrown the series of course, but thats like any series (greys anatomy for example?) this cast is one of the best of Australian talent, and why Screen Aus needs to make sure it doesn’t lose or cancel anymore shows like this.
I will humbly disagree with some points about this season being “awful” but then again i’m not doing reviews for a living, just a tv fan who loves a really good prison drama, of course you’re going to have ups and downs like any show does, but i’ve just really enjoyed this season and have to point out if we’re watching the same episode or not.
and i’ll point this out, you never saw Prisoner doing what this show has done in the past couple of seasons.
Hmmmm, that would definitely make sense. They have started killing off a lot of the characters. This further convinces me that Marie isn’t going to make it out of the season.
I wish I was doing reviews for a living. I make next to nothing doing these lol. I just like watching different stuff. Even at its lowest points, Wentworth is a lot better than many popular shows
The series was at its best during the first few seasons. Really hard to match that level of quality. Thanks for the info! That is very interesting. Agree with the networks canceling certain shows.
America will drag out a horrible show for 10 seasons. UK and Australia end great shows after a season or two. Just doesn’t make sense.
There’s a stupid reason for that.. Screen Australia provides funding for TV shows and they sign a deal of 64.5 hours of TV, which equates to 5/6 seasons and 10 episodes every season. The series went over its 64.5 hour deal when they made season 6.
Really good shows get cancelled because of it.
I’d say the British are like that too. I know BBC is publicly funded. Thanks for the info man and thanks for visiting Reel Mockery! 🙂
I missed saturdays wentworth how can i catch up not on catch up tv
Hey there. If you search for the full episode on Bing or Google, you will likely find it online.
Am I the only person that can’t stand Ruby and Rita? Find them pointless, without Marie, there’s no bad girls left. What prison on this planet has everyone just getting on and being kind to each other. Bad girls going up against good girls made this show. Not everyone being nice.
People may not agree but it’s just my take on things.
Couldn’t agree more. I don’t think the show can be good with Rita as top dog. Would rather see Marie kill both Rita and Ruby. Wish they would use Vicky Kosta more too. She is criminally underused.
Yes!! Definitely hope that’s the way it plays out, definitely wants revenge for Danny!! Kosta is a funny one, almost a bit of a back seat driver at the moment, I guess if something does happen to Marie, she steps in but can’t help thinking Rita and Ruby have it wrapped up, especially with Allie having no bottle and being too nice!
lol! I agree. I’d say that Rita will be top dog soon enough. It will likely only get worse at that point.
