The episode opens with Liam (Charlie Hodson Prior) showing Rachel (Kara Tointon) photos of young Elliot on a farm in Ireland. Rachel voices concern about what Simone (Sara Powell) will think when she learns about her and Elliot Fielding (Allen Leech) sleeping together. Elliot denies having an intimate relationship with anyone since he and Olivia separated. They both admit to enjoying their time together last night. He tells her to pack for a trip. She reminds him that she is his cleaner. He says consider it a holiday.
Upon arriving at their destination, Elliot says it is where he comes when he does not want to be found. Rachel tries her phone to learn there is no signal. Pointing to a shed, Liam asks what is in it. Elliot claims it is a toilet block where he stores tools and an old Land Rover. In his room, Liam asks if the other boy would mind if he utilizes his binoculars. Elliot says they are yours now. Looking out the window in her room, Rachel spots someone outside. He suggests it is a dog walker. Later, they are walking to a fishing spot when Elliot points out poisonous death caps.
Liam is in the shed when a white dog approaches. He follows the dog into the woods. Rachel and Elliot are making out when they hear him call her. She rushes into the woods to find him with an injured ankle and staring at two graves.
While watching surveillance footage, Simone sees two men vandalizing Rachel’s flat. She compares the men to Kieron’s (Oliver Devoti) mug shot. Back in the woods, Elliot tells Rachel and Liam that his dogs, Whiskey and Brandy are buried in the graves. She asks if they died at the same time. He claims they died years apart but they loved each other. Liam asks about the white dog. Elliot suggests it belongs to the person Rachel saw earlier before giving Liam a piggy bank ride back to the cabin.
Elliot asks about Rachel and Keiron’s relationship. She says it lasted a few years and there has been no one since. He recalls his childhood and people questioning what his mum saw in his father who was an angry drunk. He claims to have overheard his mum talking about leaving him and a week later she packed her belongings. He believes she regretted him. He pleads with her to not go. When his father returned, he locked them in a bedroom and set the house on fire. He escaped out the window but the opening wasn’t big enough for his mum. He listened to her screams until they stopped. He was deemed a hero but he considers himself a coward. Later, in Elliot’s dream, he appears to have set the fire.
Rachel wakes up to find Liam’s room empty and Elliot carrying in wood. They split up to search for him. Rachel finds him a short time later walking in the woods. He tells her about meeting a woman who asked him all kinds of questions. When Elliot approaches, they do not tell him about the woman. Elliot says he can wear Alfie’s clothes because he never packed extra.
At a local store, Rachel tells the clerk that they are staying in the house in the woods. The woman stares at Elliot. Liam shows her his used camera from the thrift shop. She tells Elliot about the clerk’s strange reaction when she told her that they were staying in the cabin. He claims to have demolished the house that was there before.
Elliot spots someone watching them from the woods. He sends Liam after a rabbit while he searches the woods. He finds a cigarette butt covered in lipstick. Later, Elliot tells Rachel that he spent time in foster care and boarding schools after his parents died. He asks if he can trust her. She assures him that he can.
Upon arriving home, Simone tells Rachel that she settled in quicker than she imagined. She informs Elliot that Rachel’s flat was vandalized by two guys, not Keiron. He suggests the guys were acting on Keiron’s orders. She asks if they should report it to the police. He reminds her that they have been utilizing illegal surveillance before informing her of his decision to invite Rachel to move in with him. Simone says Rachel is unreliable before asking if Liam’s trust fund and Rachel moving in is because he wants to have sex with her. After issuing her a warning, he says Rachel is no longer her problem. Later, Elliot asks Rachel to move in with him.
Jasmine (Taj Atwal) tells Rachel that Keiron has disappeared. Rachel is filling a teapot when Olivia approaches her from behind. Olivia questions how Elliot convinced her to move in with him. Rachel says Kieron vandalized her flat. Olivia questions if it was really him. She describes Elliot as a “pathological liar” and claims he took Alfie away from her. Liam approaches and says she is the woman from the woods. Rachel threatens to call the police if she doesn’t leave. Olivia says he is watching them before urging her to leave for Liam. A short time later, Rachel tells Elliot that they are leaving. He claims Olivia attempted suicide while Alfie was in the next room playing. She leaves with Liam.
Simone discovers an article in which Olivia claims Elliot ruined her life. Rachel receives a bouquet of flowers. Jasmine goes to the front desk to find out who sent them. While having a glass of wine, Elliot calls the police claiming Olivia attacked him in his own home. Breaking the wine glass, he utilizes a glass fragment to cut his cheek. The episode ends.
