A Look Back At Season 1
Despite only six episodes, the first season was a big BBC hit. The amnesiac protagonist finds himself in the middle of the Australian outback. After a bathroom break at a remote truck stop, The Man, later identified as Elliot Stanley, was harassed by a maniac truck driver until his car was flipped on its side.
The Man required medical treatment at Cooper Springs Hospital where he’d later be interviewed by Constable Helen Chambers (Danielle MacDonald).
The pilot episode received 8.9 million. BBC reported 12 million viewers tuned in to watch the season one in the first 30 days. BBC announced a second season in March 2022. The release date is still not available. Jamie Dornan will return for the second season.
Elliot uncovers his true identity as a drug trafficker and is appalled by it, which makes the potential plots all the more intriguing. If the character is so disgusted with his acts, why is he involved with the cartel? Nonetheless, his discovery sends him into a dangerous downward spiral.
After downing enough Vodka and pill to ensure his demise, Elliot shares the disgust of his discovery with Helen. Season 1 rolls to a rather satisfying end, with Elliot lying on the ground, dying and disgusted by his discovery.
