The Outlaws is scheduled to premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the United Kingdom on October 25. It will be available on Amazon Prime Video in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Nordic countries. The upcoming comic crime thriller, which was created by Elgin James and Stephen Merchant, has already received approval for a second series.
The six-part series follows seven strangers with different backgrounds and personalities as they pay their debts to society through a community payback sentence in Bristol. When they find a bag of money, they soon believe their lives are going to change for the better. In reality, the loot makes them likely targets for the dangerous individuals hunting for it.
The contemporary British drama follows a group of lawbreakers who come together to complete a community service sentence. They dislike manual labor nearly as much as they despise one another, but they’ll unite when one of their own is entangled in a dangerous world of organized crime. The intelligent Rani, played by Rhianne Barreto, knows little about the outside world thanks to her overprotective family.
When her chronic shoplifting catches up to her, she shames her parents and puts her Oxford University scholarship in jeopardy. While cleaning graffiti from a rundown community center, she will encounter unique individuals, including the terrible lawyer Greg (Stephen Merchant) and the socialite with more than a million followers Gabby (Eleanor Tomlinson).
A troubled young man, Christian (Gamba Cole), would do anything to protect his kid sister Esme (Aiyana Goodfellow), including working for a local gang member. When he steals a bag of cash and hides it at the community center, he is setting himself up for a disaster. When the outlaws find the money, they inadvertently place themselves in the middle of a criminal turf war.
The Outlaws stars Darren Boyd, Rhianne Barreto, Charles Babalola, Eleanor Tomlinson, Christopher Walken, and Stephen Merchant. The series will premiere on BBC on October 25.
