The Old Man Review

The flashback dialogue is nothing more than rambling due to weak writing.

We now know Dan forced Zoe against her will into the trunk of a vehicle. This move makes me think he is an aggressive fool. What were the writers thinking?

Zoe’s demands are ridiculous. When Dan met her, she didn’t know which way to turn. Now, she has created an elaborate extortion plan to save her own skin.

The dialogue talks in cringeworthy, uncompelling riddles. Why was it necessary to add confusion to an already confusing story?

I’m afraid the direction the show is taking will not be favorable among viewers. It is getting progressively worse with each episode. The episode deserves a 5. Get more The Old Man recaps here. Support Reel Mockery by clicking the link.

  1. James Luther says:

I was very disappointed with this episode and now, the series in general. It was cringeworthy scene after cringeworthy scene; in Afghanistan, at the agency and at Dan’s apartment. Dan should have held a gun to that woman’s head and assured her that either she rescinded the email or her brains would be all over that computer screen. Or he should have just staged her “suicide”.

The actress is Judging Amy right? I never noticed she was so bow legged.

Oh well. Maybe it gets better. Right now Dark Skies is turning out to be the better show. Neither is as good as the last two episodes of Stranger Things and we have the new Chris Prat as a navy SEAL show to binge over the weekend. Plus I still have three eps of Sherwood. And with the new Thor movie coming out on July 8 it’s a good time to watch the other three. Plenty else to keep me occupied and help us forget how disappointing the Old Man has become.

    • ReelMockery says:

Agree. It seems like everyone hates her now. The character is becoming a distraction to the point that it’d be better off without her. Yes, she was in Judging Amy and Shining Girls not too long ago. Don’t want to be mean but noticed the bow-legged thing too like she had just gotten off a horse. Hadn’t noticed that previously either.

Still think the ending could be fun as long as they don’t try to drag it out to another season. Depends on whether they go with the book’s ending. Good thing about a new month means a lot of new shows are on the way usually.

  2. Linda says:

The daughter’s name is NOT Angela. The character’s name is. EMILY. if you are going to review, get it right.

    • ReelMockery says:

lol. Thought I had actually made a mistake for a minute, but I am actually 100% correct. Angela and Emily are the same person and they’re his daughter. I would appreciate an apology when you manage to put 2 and 2 together.

It is kind of a cheesy, unrealistic twist so don’t blame me. Thank you.
