Sullivan’s Crossing Series 2 Episode 7 Recap

Reunions – The episode opens with Edna Cranebear (Andrea Menard) claiming to be shocked by what Walter did to Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan). Harry “Sully” Sullivan (Scott Patterson) says she hasn’t talked to him about it. He disapproves of Andrew Matthew (Allan Hawco) being the father of Maggie’s baby. Hearing it for the first time, Edna is thrilled. Sully scorns the thought of Andrew being a part of Maggie’s life. Edna recalls Phoebe’s father feeling the same about him. He reminds her of Andrew punching Cal Jones (Chad Michael Murray) during his last visit. She urges him to get along with Andrew for Maggie. Frank Cranebear (Tom Jackson) and Edna briefly celebrate Maggie’s pregnancy.

Phoebe Lancaster (Lynda Boyd) says The Crossing was like freedom. On her first visit, she met Sully who was “patient” and “generous” which is why she fell for him. She claims her father discouraged her from hooking up with Sully and staying at The Crossing. They were happy in the beginning but things began to fall apart. Maggie believes she became a neurosurgeon to earn Walter’s approval. Phoebe assures her that she is a great neurosurgeon when Sydney Shandon (Lindura) arrives. When Sydney asks about Walter, Phoebe rushes off to get dressed.

Rob Shandon (Reid Price) wakes up in bed with Jane (Cindy Sampson). She invites him to have sex again. He tells her that he has to take Sydney to the airport. She suggests getting together for dinner but he declines before leaving.

Maggie tells Sydney that her feelings for Andrew have changed. Sydney urges her to let Cal explain why he doesn’t want kids. Maggie questions if he knows about her pregnancy when Andrew approaches and asks about their baby. Seeing Maggie drinking from a mug, he asks if it is coffee. She says it is juice.

Glenn Perry (Dean Armstrong) pitches a housing development to Sully and Frank. Sully refuses to break his promise to the Mi’kmaq community. Glen suggests upgrading the cabins to accommodate 5-star clients. Frank and Glen negotiate a 30-70 split.

Sedona Jones (Meghan Ory) spent the night at Cal’s place. He agrees to give her a tour of The Crossing. Elsewhere, Edna gifts Maggie a onsie for her unborn baby. Maggie tells Edna that she believes there is no future for her and Cal. Edna assures her that some risks are worth taking.

Connie Boyle (Lauren Hammersley) is waiting for her order when Alysa Mackenzie (Michelle Nolden) approaches and asks if she offended her in some way. Connie admits to leaving early after a man teased her about the affair she had with a woman. Alysa urges her to ignore him and go on with her life.

Edna apologizes to Phoebe and asks what are her plans. Phoebe admits to being wrong about taking Maggie away and not staying in touch. Edna says Phoebe was like a sister to her. Phoebe claims Walter convinced her that it would be in Maggie’s best interest to not go back.

Sully tells Maggie that he and Glenn may have a deal. Frank warns against putting too much faith in Glenn. Sully assures him that Glenn is true to his word. After asking Sully to give Andrew another chance, Maggie denies accepting his proposal. Sully promises to try when Andrew arrives with a handful of medical equipment from the local pharmacy. She reminds him that she is a doctor. He says she is carrying their precious cargo. Maggie puts Sully on the spot by saying he was suggesting they all go fishing. Andrew reluctantly agrees because he doesn’t know how to fish. Later, Sully, Maggie, Phoebe, and Andrew go fishing. Phoebe apologizes for taking Maggie away.

Rob tells Cal that he likes Jane who was his first since Sarah died. Cal says it was the same for him when Lynn died. He assures Rob that Sarah would want him to be happy. At the river, Sully tries to teach Andrew to fish but it doesn’t go so well. He apologizes for what he said last night. Andrew leaves it up to Sully to get along with him.

Lola Gunderson (Amalia Williamson) tells Sedona that she was a victim of a hit-and-run when she was young. Cal says there is no evidence tying the case to anyone. Lola claims to not remember any of it. Sedona urges her to revisit the scene to see if it will jog her memory.

Andrew tells Maggie that he has work to do. She says he just got there. He asks if she wants him to pretend to be enjoying it. She informs him of her decision to reject Dr. Callahan’s job offer. He assures her that it is the right decision for her to stay home to take care of their baby and urges her to consider his proposal. She walks away without speaking.

Edna tells Frank that Lorne claims to feel bad about Frank’s mother’s regalia. Frank claims to have not said anything because he didn’t want to upset her. She urges him to meet with Lorne but he refuses when Andrew and Maggie arrive. While Andrew washes his hands, Maggie says Sully is making an effort with Phoebe and wishes Andrew would do the same. Sedona tells Cal that her head hurts and she is going to lie down. Maggie and Andrew greet him. Andrew asks if Sedona is his girlfriend. Cal says she is his sister before telling Maggie that he is really happy about her pregnancy. Shocked, Maggie asks Andrew how he could do that to her and walks away.

Cal returns to the cabin to find Sedona distressed about some loud kids outside. He says there are no kids outside. She pleads for her head to stop hurting. A text from a concerned Chris pops up on her phone. Elsewhere, Maggie scolds Andrew for telling her friends about the pregnancy. He says it was not a big deal but she disagrees. She assures him that she can take care of herself. He says she is overreacting.

Sully and Phoebe return to the Outpost excited from their fishing trip. They sense the tension between Edna and Frank. Phoebe rushes off to get cleaned up, leaving Sully to deal with them. Frank tells him about Lorne’s call and refuses to listen to Edna or Sully.

Cal tells Sedona that he spoke with Chris. He asks why she left her husband and kids without telling them where she was going. She sarcastically says he gave up his law practice and moved to a campground. He reminds her that she has children, not him. She assures him that she is okay.

Connie invites Alysa over to explain her past. She says her family made her feel ashamed of being gay and her marriage to Tom gave them relief. Alysa assures her that she understands. Elsewhere, Maggie tells Andrew that she will probably return to work after the baby is born. He recalls a time when they had the same goals and hopes for the future. She says The Crossing has helped her reconnect with the part of her that she lost. He claims to have always known but he hoped the baby would bring them closer together. She assures him that he will always be part of the baby’s life but she needs to do it on her own.

At the Outpost, Frank and Edna are still not talking. Maggie tells Sully that Andrew left for Boston because it wasn’t going to work between them. Cal and Sedona arrive looking for Edna. Sedona has a seizure as the episode ends.

 

Sullivan’s Crossing Review

Maggie stages a fishing trip in hopes it would give Sully and Andrew a fresh start. Sully tries but Andrew has no interest in a friendship. Sully takes the opportunity to mend his friendship with Phoebe.

Andrew wants Maggie to be a stay-at-home mother but she has other plans. She accepted Andrew telling her parents about the baby but when she finds out he told Cal, she gets very upset. She tells him that it is over between them. He asks if it is Cal. She says The Crossing helped her find the part of her that was missing. She wants to raise the baby on her own but agrees to let him be part of its life. Andrew returns to Boston.

Cal gets an unexpected visit from his sister, Sedona. He later finds out that she left without telling Chris and her kids where she was going. Sedona has a severe headache which eventually goes away. Maggie is talking to her when she has a seizure.

Sully agrees to let Glenn upgrade the existing cabins if they become partners. Frank doesn’t completely trust Glenn.

Edna isn’t upset when she learns Frank’s family gave his mother’s regalia away without confiding in him. Frank wants nothing more to do with them. Edna insists he speaks to Lorne but he refuses.
