FOX Business Network announced it has signed Spectrum News NY1 Investigative Reporter Lydia Hu as a New York-based correspondent. Hu is expected to begin her new role on February 15. Since January of 2018, Hu has served as a general assignment reporter and enterprise storyteller for NY1.
During the coronavirus pandemic, she closely covered the troubles of New York City hospitals and documented the struggles of frontline workers. In 2019, Hu received a New York Emmy Award for her work on the NY1 original documentary The New York City Opioid Battle.
Before joining NY1, Hu worked as an investigative report and weekend evening anchor for the FOX affiliate WRBC-TV in Birmingham, Alabama. In 2017, she received the Best in Broadcasting award from the Alabama Broadcasters Association after reporting on a viral image of a local disabled toddler.
She began her career as an intern in WNBC-TV’s investigative unit in New York. After practicing as a lawyer in Baltimore, she transitioned to a career in journalism. Learn more about Hu’s career and future job with FOX Business Network here.
