December 6, 2022: Sky announced a new documentary about the life of Formula One driver and ABC sports commentator, Sir Jackie “Flying Scot” Stewart. The 83-year-old F1 legend came from a long line of racing drivers. His father, Bob Stewart, was an amateur motorcycle racer, and his brother, Jimmy, a Formula One Grand Prix driver.
Stewart struggled with basic learning due to undiagnosed dyslexia. He later recalled being berated by his classmates and teachers. After spending several years in a maintenance apprenticeship at his father’s garage, Stewart set his eyes on becoming a race car driver.
“Stewart,” produced by Sarah Bayntun (Armstrong, Spitfire) and directed by Patrick Mark, takes a look at Stewart’s extensive professional racing career.
Sky’s new documentary will air on December 30, 2022, on Sky Documentaries & Now. Access the press release to get more details.
