As the episode begins, we hear Melon (Stephen Graham) talking about his attraction to a young girl. He admits the girl was 13 and he was disgusted with himself. Claire (Suranne Jones) and her husband are brought into the station to see a girl. Melon tells Nelly (Lennie James) that he tried to bury it, but the girl came back later. He explains he met her on a trail when she was 15. Bernie (Alice May Feetham) admits she couldn’t help herself. Claire speaks with the girl. While she looks like Jody, it isn’t her. Lorraine is allowed to leave. The girl is going to portray Jody in recreations to jog people’s memories. Bernie and Melon continue telling Nelly about their story. Bernie tries to grab her phone, but Nelly forces her to sit back down. Claire and Barry (Barry Ward) speak about the girl in the car.

Claire wants to know where the money for the reward is from. He admits it is from several different places. She asks to see it. When they return home, he shows her the money in his safe. He promises to tell her where it is from when they get Jody back. Nelly reminds Melon about the night when they got locked in The Palm. Melon denies being there. Melon admits he knows Nelly’s mother’s name. He denies having anything to do with Jody’s disappearance. He believes that Melon’s computer skills would allow him to manipulate Jody. Melon denies everything. He shows them the things that were written to Jody. Nelly threatens to stab Bernie in the knee if Melon doesn’t tell him where Jody is. Melon denies meeting Stace’s (Susan Lynch) dad. Nelly finally relents. Stace hangs out at the pub.

They plan a search for Jody. Nelly enters with Melon and Bernie. Gavin (Ragevan Vasan) and his friend watch from a distance. Nelly calls to Stace. Goz (Thomas Coombes) asks if Melon is okay. Nelly promises that he is. Stace admits she doesn’t remember introducing Melon to her father. Stace agrees to ask her father though. Luke (Alexander Arnold) offers Nelly a drink. He turns it down. Luke turns on Melon and calls him a convicted pedo. After a confrontation, Luke finally leaves. Nelly and the others leave. Melon recommends that Nelly speak with Zita. Nelly immediately pays a visit to Zita (Camilla Beeput). She doesn’t answer the door. He tries to call her, but gets voicemail. He calls Tam and asks if Zita is working. Tam hasn’t seen her. Tam (Jason Flemyng) speaks with Zita. He encourages her to speak with Nelly. She insists she has nothing that will help him.
He tells her about Nelly talking about Jody when he was at his place. Zita believes that Nelly is going to wade through some kind of shat if he tries to find Jody. Nelly visits Tam and runs into Marky (Jimmy Walker). Nelly refuses to give up the car just yet. Bernie decides to join Stace and the search party. Melon tries to talk her out of it. Melon believes that it is only going to get worse. Bernie leaves anyway. Claire and Barry watch as Jody’s movements are recreated for television. Stace hands out flyers to the locals. Claire speaks with her. Barry admits he doesn’t know these people. Bernie speaks with Claire. Nelly chats with Tam and Franky. Tam asks about Zita. Tam tries to cover for her. They speak about the feelings of having kids. Melon finally leaves the apartment. He finds NONCE spray painted on a door outside.

He knocks on the door and calls for Errol. Melon offers to clean up the mess for him. Errol tells him he’d rather not be involved. When Melon visits the store, he gets spit on by Goz’s girl. Nelly tries to reach Zita again. She continues ignoring him. Claire continues watching the Jody lookalike. The girl finally gets into the silver car and it drives away. Teens (Kerry Godliman) finds Nelly at the pub. She tells him not to worry about Marky and the car. Nelly tells her about his visit to Melon’s. Dylan (Nicholas Croucher) returns home. Nelly and Teens get into an argument about Marky and Zita. Then, Stace and the others arrive. Claire joins them. Claire and Nelly share a drink in private. Nelly wants to know how Claire is really doing. She gives him a brief rundown. Then, they drink and play pool with the others. Barry becomes worried that she hasn’t gotten home. Before Claire leaves, she shares a kiss with Nelly. She eventually stops him.

Barry leaves in a taxi. He tells the driver about Jody. He is told that he owes them money. He is warned what might happen if he doesn’t pay. He owes them 94 grand. Nelly waits for Zita. She finally opens the door and speaks with him. They eventually head inside. Zita doesn’t want to tell him about something from her past. Nelly admits Melon told him to talk to her. Zita tells him to be careful with Melon, because he doesn’t know him. She insists that there might be a pack around Melon. Zita admits she knows about pedos. Rita tells Nelly about Richard Rosewall. She believes that he’ll know all about Melon and his kind. Claire finally returns home. Barry is concerned and jealous. They receive a visitor. Rita takes Nelly to Richard. She leaves with seeing him.

Melon is shown on his computer, while Bernie sleeps. He looks up virgins and pain. He scours through the possible videos. Nelly is told he will need to pay a fee to get into Richard’s club. The police speak with Barry and Claire. Nelly speaks with the man in charge, but isn’t allowed inside. Claire and Barry listen to a 911 call of a girl asking for help. Claire recognizes the voice as Jody.

 

Save Me Review

This was likely the best episode yet of Save Me. There are tons of potential scenarios of what exactly happened. Still though, Nelly seems to be getting nowhere. Melon could be truthful, but he might be giving him the runaround. The acting has been fantastic from pretty much everyone too. I could easily binge watch the entire season.
