Reddit and Cheddar have decided to cooperate to develop a new program based on Reddit’s popular Ask Me Anything (AMA) question and answer series. The pilot episode of “ChedChats With” has already been released to the public. The pilot episode features a sit down with Game of Thrones director David Nutter. Nutter spends 20 minutes in the hot seat answering questions and accepting comments from the Reddit community.
ChedChats steps away from the conventional AMA format by featuring an exclusive, in-depth interview with the director. Reddit has continued to see increased engagement in its AMA series. Over the years, the AMA series has featured some of the most influential individuals in the world including Barack Obama, Jerry Seinfeld, and even Buzz Aldrin. In 2018 alone, the site hosted 1.8 thousand AMAs.
A question and answer session with Bill Gates was the most upvoted AMA of the year. Native video launched in August 2017 and it has become the dominant way people are viewing and posting video content on Reddit. In September, the platform surpassed 1 billion monthly video views. By the end of November 2018, it began accumulating more than 1.4 billion video views each month.
