Broken Covenants – The episode opens with Mitch Leeway (Christopher James Baker) and Kasey Leeway (Nikki Shiels) streaming live. Mitch boasts of the impending U Star Downtown LA launch. He introduces the Quinn family in Australia before pointing out that the “Prodigal Son,” Jed Quinn (Jack Collins Levy) is back with the church. When Jed starts to refute the label, Cal Quinn (Richard Roxburgh) cuts him off with an announcement. He says Dion Quinn (Ewen Leslie) will assume his role as Senior Pastor at U Star Sydney, so he and Abi Quinn (Rebecca Gibney) can become worldwide pastors. Cal assures Mitch that Dion will do extraordinarily well. Eli Slowik (Jacek Koman) receives an Apex News alert about the prime minister winning the leadership challenge. The Prime Minister explains his tax reform plan that would close loopholes and eliminate tax rort. Seeing Eli holding up his phone, Abi pulls up the news alert on her phone and shows it to Cal. Severe head pain forces Eli to leave the meeting. Carl (Frederico Star) asks if he is all right. Eli suggests he is having a stroke.
Taz Quinn (Ming-Zhu Hii) gives Dion a Booster to enhance his sex drive. He accuses her of creeping around sex shops like a pervert. Denying the accusation, she claims to have only wanted to help him.
Issy Kalani (Hayley McCarthy) is packing her belongings when Moses Quinn (Alexander D’Souza) approaches. She asks why he isn’t in school. He claims to have a doctor’s appointment. She tells him that she and Benji Kalani (Jordi Webber) are relocating to Los Angeles. He asks if the move has something to do with what he said about her being his sister. She stresses the importance of respecting his decision. He asks if he is supposed to be okay with his entire life turning upside down when Abi intervenes.
Cal picks Eli up at the hospital. Eli admits to thinking he was going to die. Cal says God answered their prayers. Eli sys or just lucky. Upon returning home, he is greeted by Abi, Dion, Jed, and Taz. Jed informs Cal of his decision to not attend the U Star LA launch. Eli warns of what the PM’s tax reform could do to the church. He suggests it could come with a huge fine, public scandal, and a loss of members. In the hallway, Taz questions the timing of Cal appointing him as his replacement.
Dion bursts into Jonathan Malik’s (Matthew Backer) office demanding to know why Dan Gascoigne (James Saunders) is targeting U Star. Jonathan suggests Cal left him holding the bag. Dion breaks down sobbing. Jonathan assures him that he does not need to carry the burden alone. Dion kisses him. Jonathan says his husband works in the treasury department. Dion apologizes before leaving. In the alleyway, he curses and hits himself in the face.
During a phone call, Jackie (Renee Lim) tells Abi that Dan confessed to having an affair a long time ago. She says the truth will set them free. She believes Abi is married to “Mr. Perfect”. She vows to stand by Dan even if it goes public. After the call ends, Dan thanks Jack for making the call.
Juno Adebayo (Andrea Sologne) finds Alice Patel (Radhika Mudaliyar) in her room. Alice tells her that the room was formerly hers. Juno claims they said she was doing missionary work in the Philippines. Alice says they kicked her out before warning her to never be alone with any of the pastors. After Alice leaves, Tayla (Emma Horn) calls her a liar.
Cal takes Eli to their former church. He says none of what they achieved would have been possible without him. He prays for Eli. Elsewhere, Jed serves the homeless people from his mobile kitchen. Abi pleads with him to go to LA. He refuses to leave the people who need him again.
Benji tells Issy that he booked them an appointment with an LA doula. She suggests Moses go with them for one semester. He assures her that Cal and Abi would never allow it before reminding him of their deal. She angrily walks away. Elsewhere, Juno receives an alert that Alice has followed her. Tayla claims Alice lied about a pastor coming on to her. Frankie (Melissa Kahraman) says the pastor is just attentive and caring with everyone. They refuse to identify the pastor. Juno accepts Alice’s follow request.
Cal meets Dan in a remote area. Dan is confident a scandal would not impact him with Jackie by his side. Cal asks if the prime minister is going to come for them. Dan assures him that they are safe if they did nothing wrong.
Dion refuses to get out of bed until Hendo (Septimus Caton) calls him and Quinn in for a meeting. Abi drops Bethany Quinn (Holly Leonard), Levi Quinn (Alexander Cheung), Noah Quinn (Tyler Marsh), and Rachel Quinn (Dove Wong) off at school. Paul (Charlie Clausen) invites her for a talk. Elsewhere, Abi invites Juno to sing at the U Star LA launch.
Live on the radio, Cal explains his reasoning behind his decision to become a worldwide pastor. Hendo congratulates Dion for his senior pastor position in Australia. At home, Taz tells Paul about Dion’s promotion. Dion tells Hendo that he has his family’s support. Paul sensually touches Taz. Later, she breaks down sobbing in her car. Cal stresses the need for Dion to be enthusiastic. Dion says if being the senior pastor in Australia is so great why is he running away from it. He believes Cal should be there with him to face the downfall, instead of making him the face of U Star LA.
Jed suggests it was Cal’s idea for her to sing at the LA launch. When he tries to shut her bedroom door, she says no. She assures him that Abi believes in her. He urges her to ask Moses what it felt like to be the “Miracle Boy”. She warns that Cal will exploit her in LA. She asks if he came back home because it was safe.
Cal leads Rosa’s memorial service. Tayla and Frankie comfort Juno. Alice observes from a short distance away. Eli approaches her and asks why she is there. Alice claims to be there to support Juno. He reminds her of the NDA before threatening her with attorneys. Later, Eli informs Cal that a Brooklyn pastor is on board with their idea. Cal says no business today. Jed apologizes to Juno. She says Rosa Adebayo (Brigid Zengeni) gave her the church. She asks him to go to LA with her. Cal is thrilled when he learns Jed will go to LA. Eli sees an upset Tayla fastening her pants as she emerges from a room. Benji emerges from the room and looks unconcernedly at Eli.
Eli tells Cal that he believes in him, not God. Cal releases him from his duty. Eli reminds him of how he helped him build U Star. Cal informs Eli of his decision to fire Eli. He says Eli told him that she was at the cliffs when Rosa died. She claims to have tried to help her. In a flashback, Rosa tells Abi that Cal loves her. Abi assures her that it is Cal’s way to make people feel loved and she is not special to him. Back to the present, Cal accuses Abi of pushing Rosa over the edge. She says it was him who pushed her over the edge. The episode ends.
Prosper Review
Eli has a stroke after learning the PM won the leadership challenge. He tells Cal that he has given up on God. Cal terminates him because the church cannot be associated with the dark.
Alice warns Juno to never be caught alone with any of the pastors. Tayla accuses her of lying about one of the pastors coming on to her. At Rosa’s memorial party, Tayla is upset when she comes out of a room before Benji. Eli is the only witness.
With the new tax reform bill looming over his head, Cal steps down as senior pastor of U Star Church in Australia. He appoints Dion as his replacement. Cal and Abi are now worldwide pastors.
Issy wants Moses to go to LA with her. Benji, on the other hand, knows Abi and Cal will not let it happen.
Jed tells Cal that he will not be going to LA. Abi invites Juno to sing at the U Star Church LA launch. Jed warns Juno that Cal and Abi prey on vulnerable people. He urges her to talk to Moses about being the “Miracle Boy.” She believes the church is Rosa’s last gift to her and asks him to go to LA with her. He later tells Cal that he will go.
Eli tells Cal that Abi was with Rosa at the cliffs. When he confronts Abi about the allegations, she says Rosa was in love with him. She told her that Cal makes people feel loved and she is nothing special. He accuses her of pushing Rosa over the edge.
