New Series of Casualty returns to BBC One and iPlayer on December 30

BBC Casualty new episodes

The world’s longest-running primetime medical drama is returning for another series after Christmas. This week, the BBC released the winter trailer for the upcoming series to give viewers a glimpse into the story ahead. In the new series, the team will attempt to curb violence in Holby City ED after an acquaintance is attacked.

Stevie (Elinor Lawless) and Charlie (Derek Thompson) are responsible for enforcing the strict zero-tolerance measures. Soon, Stevie will begin buckling under the pressure leaving the team in riskier circumstances than ever. Max (Nigel Harman) is facing kidney failure and his time is quickly running out.

When Jodie (Anna Chell) offers help, Max will need to decide whether he is willing to accept it to survive. Faith (Kirsty Mitchell) is on the road to recovery, but an unhealthy obsession puts her at risk of falling back into the web of addiction. Rash (Neet Mohan) asks Rida (Sarah Seggari) to help care for his father who has dementia. Even with the extra help, Rash will struggle to manage his personal and professional life concurrently.

New cast members include Melanie Hill and Adesuwa Oni. Clinical nurse manager Siobhan Mackenzie (Melanie Hill) is a stern team leader who will shake things up. Ngozi (Adesuwa Oni) is a nurse who recently relocated to the United Kingdom from Nigeria. Doctor Zoe Hanna (Sunetra Sarker) is back. As the ER struggles to keep up, Zoe returns to her old routine as if she was never gone.

Viewers can look forward to new episodes of Casualty to begin on BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday, December 30.
