Netflix and Skydance have announced a new anime series based on the Terminator franchise. The series will mark the first time the franchise has been adapted into an animated television series. The series is being produced in partnership with Production I.G who has had a Production Line Deal with Netflix since 2018.

Mattson Tomlin, who is best known for Project Power and The Batman, will serve as the showrunner and executive producer. After the announcement, Mattson said, “I’m honored that Netflix and Skydance have given me the opportunity to approach Terminator in a way that breaks conventions, subverts expectations and has real guts.”
