As the show begins Henry McCord (Tim Daly) heads to the University to work, while Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) heads to Russel Jackson (Zeljko Ivanek) to question him about her husband’s reactivation into the NSA. Henry meets with an old comrade, Klaus Von Muhlberg (Ronald Guttman).

Elizabeth rendezvous with the team, as everyone gushes about Daisy’s engagement ring. Matt Mahoney (Geoffrey Arend) is left to sulk in the background. Afterward, The Moldovan Prime Minister, Vlad Diacov (Alfredo Narciso) requests the US send support to help his country fight off a warlord, who goes by the name Kolba. Liz moves Jim Ionesco over to the State Department to give him the opportunity to work with the Prime Minister and help setup a counter-insurgency strategy.

It appears Henry was wearing a wire, during his meeting. Back at the McCord home, the family watches the late news and discovers that General Kolba (Daniel Oreskes) is good with social media, specially Twitter, and has made a viral Twitter regarding Liz’s nice legs.

Jason McCord (Evan Roe) is interested in a girl, wearing cologne and is prepared to invite her to the mall. Of course, the entire family heckle him over the situation. Since Henry refuses to comment on his day, Liz does the same. She explains she misses her simpler days of being a professors.

Daisy reveals Kolba’s hilarious tweets (She is a soft woman, who loves hard positions) and insists on a press release to condemn the General. Matt and Liz do not agree with the idea. Jim Ionesco (Tom Degnan) and The Moldovan Prime Minister have gone missing, after their plane has disappeared over Moldovan airspace. It seems Liz’s counter insurgency strategy has gone out the window.

Nadine Tolliver (Bebe Neuwirth) explains the current theory is that the plane was shot down. Claire Ionesco (Tammy Blanchard) explains her husband lied to her about his whereabouts and his move to the State Department would make him much safer. Liz isn’t able to provide her with much information.

Henry McCord meets his handler, Sarah Eckhart (Anna Wood), who explains he has failed at his main objective. She explains Klaus has been laundering drug money through the US for years and has gotten ahold of some chemicals weapons from the Syrians, after they agreed to destroy their cache (Good old Bashar Al-Assad).

The team works to begin preparing a press release. They also discuss the possibility of other elements entering the equation. Meanwhile, Liz is in a meeting with the NTSB Chairman Humphrey Nelson (Alfredo Narciso). Nelson explains the plane was shot down. Liz insists on getting the grid closed down immediately with more drones.

Henry meets with Klaus again, who turns down Henry for lunch. On the other hand, Klaus invites henry to his home for lunch. Liz questions how a plane of that size could disappear. Like that has never happened before, huh? Liz begins questioning George’s death. Liz revealed that George suspected someone with the company caused Marsha’s plane crash. Liz put Isabelle (Marin Hinkle) and Juliet (Nilaja Sun) in danger by giving them the information.

Henry attends the meeting with Klaus and a guest (Amr El-Bayoumi). The guest is aware of Henry’s wife. While claiming to be headed for the bathroom, Henry begins snooping around and exploring a weird Chess board. Klaus catches him and agrees to play a game for the chess piece.

Liz learns that the Prime Minister’s co-pilot met with Russia’s Crimea a few months back. It is revealed he could have possibly killed the pilot and took control of the aircraft. Things are looking bad for the Prime Minister and Jim.

After the show returns, Henry and Klaus are stuck in an intense game of Chess. Henry says Liz expected him back and hour ago and suggests the pair declare a draw. Klaus offers the chess set to Henry. Of course, he denies it and insists he didn’t win.

Liz insists on keeping the information quite to protect Jim’s life. Nadine and Liz try to comfort Jim’s sobbing widow. It is revealed that Jim and Vlad are held in the control tower on the base. Much to Russell’s surprise, Liz supports military action. She begins mentioning Kolba’s White Rolls-Royce.

Liz suggests impersonating the General using a Phantom White Rolls-Royce, which will allow the soldiers to enter the base, without notice. Henry visits his handler, Sarah Eckhart, again. He insists he’ll continue to help, but she says he has finished his task. She insists Henry keep the information from his wife and she’ll discuss Henry staying on with the NSA with the president.

Liz is prepared to chat with General Kolba. Matt and Daisy argue over the decision. Kolba shows up on a video chat feed. Right away, Kolba begins commenting on Liz’s legs. Of course, he has no idea he is being distracted. He suggests he would be happy to help, but the US government supports criminals. Using the White Rolls-Royce, the seals are able to make their way to the control tower easily. After a shootout, they make their way inside.

Kolba insists on public recognition for his government. The seal team finds the Prime Minister, Vlad Diacov, dead. Liz continues chatting with the general, as the seals discover Jim tied up. Kolba threatens Liz, as he is warned about the Americans blowing up his helicopters outside.

As the show returns, Liz informs Russell a new Prime Minister is being sworn in. Jim Ionesco is safe and on his way back. Russell insists the President would like to meet him. Matt and Daisy share a conversation and he insists Daisy is too good for her fiancé. Nadine suggests they keep their personal relationships out of the office.

Jim’s plane arrives and he is reunited with his wife, as Nadine, Matt and Daisy watch from the sidelines.

Things are back to normal at the McCord house. Jason begins discussing his dating skills, as Liz and the girls begin burning the food. Time to order out. Henry insists Jason learn to respect girls. Henry offers Jason some manly advice for his date.

Henry explains his NSA adventure is over. Of course, he seems to be lying. Still, Liz is happy with the revelation. Liz receives a phone call. She invites Isabelle into her home. Liz suggests that Juliet believes her. Isabelle gives Liz a five dollar bill that George sent her. On the back of the bill, the word Tamerlane is written. The envelope was post marked the day George died. Isabelle insists Juliet is out, but she is in.

Review


Excellent episode and quite possible the best of the season. General Kolba offered an interesting storyline with a bit of humor. On the other hand, the mysterious death is definitely an interesting plot to explore. On the other hand, Henry’s time with the NSA was fun. Will it continue?

At the McCord home, Jason shined this episode, while the girls took a backseat. Of course, this was fine and we got to see Henry instill moral values into his son, which was touching. Overall, this was a good episode. It was certainly a 9 out of 10!
