She becomes suspicious that Crabtree isn’t really dead.
Henry tries to convince George that the Pamunkey are up to something. The governor isn’t willing to listen to him. Jocelyn asks George how the sweets reached Jamestown. Meredith (Dean Lennox Kelly) is shocked to see Tam back in Jamestown. Jocelyn confronts James. He confirms that he will be leaving Jamestown. Jocelyn gives James her ring as a memento. He takes it reluctantly. George tells the citizens of Jamestown that Crabtree is dead. He opens the casket and finds pigs’ tongues inside. It means that someone thinks he is a liar. The colonists exacted a terrible revenge by attacking the Powhatan and burning their cops, houses, and canoes. Jamestown Review
I didn’t know that this was the last season of Jamestown. Now, I am sad. This was definitely the best season and it showed how much potential the show really had. Nevertheless, the ending was fitting and satisfying. I enjoyed it greatly. It was emotional and intense. I am going to miss Jamestown. It had a few bad episodes, but the show was fun. Thankfully, the finale did wrap up most of the storylines. What can I say? I liked it. I’d give the finale an 8.5 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of Jamestown now!
Jay Skelton is a fan of all television shows and movies. He tries his best to keep up with the latest foreign television shows and movies. Jay loves skinny dipping in the dark too.
My husband and I loved Jamestown. I, too, am sorry it’s over, but it was fitting for it to end as it did. I was happy that mercy married pepper and that Jocelyn finally admitted she lived James reed! And that at least some of the settlers survived, although if the governor and his henchmen caused the whole debacle with the indians😡that muc, I’m sure, is historically accurate.
I will definitely miss it. Enjoyed the show. I am sure it had some historical accuracy to it for sure. I know James Read was actually a blacksmith back in those days. Pretty interesting 🙂
Loved every episode. Good work..well done to everyone!!
I was shocked to see this was the end of Jamestown …I really enjoyed the series… PBS always seems to deliver such great television…. Will be waiting for the next great adventure…. Great job cast, will certainly miss you all….
Agree. PBS chooses the best British shows to broadcast. Jamestown was originally aired on Sky TV in Britain. Sad it got the axe but at least the ending was satisfying.
I’m sorry. I don’t see this as a fitting conclusion to a great series. It was as if they ran out of time to develop a conclusion to the episode, so they cut to a post-script. Horrific! What happened to Pedro? How about the doc? It was just such a cop-out of an ending that I can’t believe fans of the show were satisfied. I am not being critical of anyone who liked it, but I haven’t been so let down by a sophomoric way to end a series since Pam Ewing woke up and Bobby was in the shower after being dead an entire year.
Pedro was killed. Everyone outside of the city gates were. I’ve seen far worse finales. I think Jamestown was always on the verge of being cancelled. Just to get this type of finale was satisfying for me. I expected much worse honestly and maybe that is why I liked it? Who knows?
I assumed Pedro was killed too along with Crabtree. It’s just they never showed their deaths and left it open enough for a possible new season with surprise survivors. Since we didn’t see them killed and Maria made it back, I thought they might have made it back. The only way we are given the idea that they definitely died was the post-script. I agree with you that it wasn’t the worst finale I have ever seen. It’s just that the series had been so good and had such well-developed storylines throughout, for the most part, that the ending was surprisingly abrupt without a satisfying conclusion. At least that’s my amateur analysis.
By the way, was the show low-rated in Britain? I am in the US and only watched it on PBS on Sunday evenings. I don’t know how well it was received in Europe.
Same. My opinions are just mine. Some will agree and some won’t. Nothing we can do about that. I am not positive on the ratings but I know some critics were pretty harsh on the show back in the day. That kinda gave me the impression that people might have listened and didn’t bother tuning in.
I know it is on Sky which also airs Tin Star.
