ITV’s launch of its new streaming service is literally just right around the corner. As it draws nearer, teasers are being released periodically. ITVX’s launch on December 8, 2022, will bright includes 10,000 hours of free programming. If that isn’t enticing enough, new TV shows with some of the biggest names in the entertainment are being added at least weekly.

Carolyn McCall, ITVX’s Chief Executive recently announced, original streaming shows will absorb the majority of the budget. The latest series to be added to ITVX’s streaming shows is Litvinenko.

The four-part British drama series was executive produced by Jim Field Smith (Stag, Criminal, The Wrong Mans), George Kay (Killing Eve, Lupin, Barbados), Patrick Spence (After the Axe, Strange Horizons, Good times Bad Times), Lucy Bedford (The Good Karma Hospital, Mistresses, Domina), Josephine Zapata Genetay, and David Tennant.

David Tennant (Good Omens, Deadwater Fell, Broadchurch, Around the World in 80 Days) will head the cast as Alexander Litvinenko, according to an ITV press release.

ITVX’s Litvinenko – What You Should Know

Litvinenko, written by George Kay, is based on an intriguing true story about who murdered former Russian Federal Security Services “FSB” officer, Alexander Litvinenko played by Doctor Who David Tennant.

The 4-part drama is set in 2006 in London. Litvinenko, former KGB officer turned British informant. Five FSB officers, including Litvinenko, claimed to have received an order to murder a Russian government official and enemy of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Boris “Platon Elenin” Abramovich Berezovsky.

Two years after the United Kingdom awarded Litvinenko asylum, he became a British special intelligence informant The story touches on the investigation of Litvinenko’s murder by Polonium-210 poisoning. Thanks to Scotland Yard Police and Marina Litvinenko (Margarita Levieva), two names were brought forward following an extensive investigation.
