When the episode opens, Lincoln (James Stewart) dreams he is heading to the morgue, with Nils (Marcus Graham). Nils transforms into Kosta Krilich (Nathan Page), before they harass Toop. The conflict ensues and a young girl is shown, before Lincoln wakes up. Rebecca (Kate Jenkinson) insists she is going to contact to her brother to find out about the baby. After they argue, Mitchell (Lincoln Younes) and Tara (Olivia DeJonge) are urged from their slumber. However, Tara discovers a note from Mitchell, which suggests he is headed to the chess club meeting.
Tara goes looking through his room and finds pictures of Kelly. At breakfast, Lincoln makes a mess and attempts to learn more about Mitch’s disappearance. Warwick Darmody (Kim Gyngell) awakes from his stupor and immediately causes trouble. On the way to school, Tara and Lincoln argue and discuss going to the beach, or shoplifting. Lincoln freaks out at the school and threatens to go in. Tara calms him, by agreeing to get Mitch to call him. Inside, Tara discovers that the chess meeting is scheduled for lunch time, before she is approached by Elicia (Mitzi Ruhlmann), who invites her to a party.
At the airport, Mitch discovers that the flight to the Gold Coast has been delayed. His friend, Garys (Jon Prasida), insists they should change their destination, but Mitch refuses. Meanwhile, Lincoln meets with John Pinder (Stephen Curry), who attempts to get him to identify his prison attacker. The pair debate, whether or not Kosta could have ordered the hit. Afterwards, he returns to the university and gets caught angrily smashing a door, by Issac Ulrich (Mitchell Butel). Lincoln intimidates him and sends him out.
He returns to Pinder and insists it’ll never end, until Nils is gone, before he suggests dealing with Nils himself. Ferdine Lamay (Jacqueline McKenzie) interrupts. Meanwhile, Rebecca attempts to apply for several jobs, but gets turned away. Eventually, she gets an interview, but cannot give any references. She mentions she worked with Ash Adamo (Ryan Johnson). She attempts to leave, but Ash enters and prevents her escape. Ash insists they hire Rebecca, but she runs off, as he continues calling her Marie.
Mitch and Garys finally arrive in the Gold Coast. Mitch ventures to his old house and discovers it is in shambles. Back at their new home, Warwick and Rebecca get drunk together. A missed phone call makes Rebecca freak out about Mitch’s disappearance. Lincoln picks up Tara from school and insists they’ll stick together, until Mitchell is found. Lincoln catches Tara trying to message Mitch and freaks out. Tara insists she should call Elicia, since she knows everything about everyone. Mitch attempts to track down Kelly (Jenna Kratzel), but Garys runs off on him.
The pair get a call and Mitch speaks to his mother. Rebecca and Lincoln urge Mitchell to come home, but he refuses and hangs up. Lincoln and Rebecca contemplate telling Pinder. Lincoln decides against it and insists he’ll find Mitchell. With that, Lincoln lands in Queensland, as Pinder discovers he is missing. Rebecca receives a call from Pinder, while Tara attempts to get permission to leave the house. Rebecca insists he is sick, before hanging up. Meanwhile, Pinder is asked to come back to the headquarters, where he learns Lincoln’s real location.
Rebecca gets a call from Ash, who insists it would be nice to catch up. Pinder pays the women a visit and confronts Rebecca about Lincoln’s true location. Garys learns about Mitch’s witness protection status, before they see Kelly, with another guy. Back at home, Pinder speaks to Tara about Lincoln. She insists that Pinder should do the same and tell her everything about her father. Lincoln winds up running off, with Kelly, in her car. Garys gets a call from Lincoln, who questions about their location. Meanwhile, Kelly attempts to beat Mitch to death, before he explains the situation about his father.
Despite the circumstances, Kelly angrily leaves Mitch, while Lincoln meets with up Garys and takes Lincoln’s backpack. Pinder calls and tells him to ditch the phone, because it will get him killed. Mitch learns about Kelly’s friends, as they seem to be working things out. Of course, Lincoln shows up and drags him away. Lincoln attempts to get Mitchell to come back to his senses. Mitch requests one night, with Kelly. Lincoln manages to negotiate it down to two hours in a motel room.
Rebecca and Tara receive a phone call from Lincoln and learn about Mitchell. We see another flashback of the cat figurines, but Kosta is there this time around. Lincoln sneaks up to their house and leaves Rebecca’s doll, before he is approached by Kosta and invited inside. The pair share a drink and discuss their health, before the conversation turns to Lincoln’s stabbing and Kosta questions, if it could have been Nils. Kosta pulls a gun on Mitch, before a fight ensues. When Kosta’s wife busts in, Lincoln makes his escape.
Meanwhile, Mitchell and Kelly seem to be having a good time, before Lincoln arrives and rushes them out. With that, the pair head back home.
Review
This episode of Hiding was much improved over the previous. In fact, it felt special in a way. Sure, Mitch was an idiot, but it created an interesting situation, although very dangerous. This helped to force Mitch and Lincoln rebuild their relationship and Rebecca also found an old pal. It seems the family isn’t going to be able to escape their past. Although Mafioso Tara didn’t play much of a role in the episode, the rest of the cast picked up the slack and made this one of the best episodes yet for an 8 out of 10.
